I am writing this email in a great disbelief how apple treats its customers.
I bought an apple iphone 7 plus in the month of march this year for a little over 1250 usd.
Within one month of my purchase, the rear camera on the phone stops working.
I took the device for the first time to the service center in the month of may 2017, this service center is in janak puri (New delhi - west), india. The apple service center diagnosis the device and tells me that the rear camera sensor has stopped functioning. To my surprise, well this is a manufacturing defect and they ask me to submit my phone. I was ok to do that, but they did not even have a backup phone. So i decided against it and continued using the device. Imagine my state, people asking me to click the photograph of the new phone but i cant as the best phone camera in the world does not work for me.
I took this device again to a different service center this time, hoping for a solution. The same answer is received from the other service center as well.
Called up apple support finally after having a chat session on 5th october and was assured the issue would be resolved.
I took my phone to the service center on 14/10/2017 (B2x service solutions india p ltd
Netaji subhash palace, wazir pur,, 207, 2nd floor, ndm2 mall,, new delhi, 110034). Now this service center comes as a recommendation of being a premium service provider for apple.
To my disbelief, i was asked to submit the phone as it would go for a repair and i could only collect a backup phone 3 days later.
I called up apple support again, and after my discussions and the lady who took my call with her support i got the backup phone and submitted the device.
A customer who has been a loyal customer to apple, has to go round and round without a concrete answer. Least expected from apple.
Now the issue stands:
I don't know when i am going to get the device back as this is a festive season in india.
The backup phone i received is just a 16gb iphone 6. I cannot even backup 1/5th of my data on to this device.
No one is able to explain the fact, how and why i am not able to get all my contacts synced on this phone. I had over 1350 contacts on my phone and currently i am just able to sync only 694. I don't really know how to manage with the missing 700.
Why should i be waiting for over 10 days to get my device as it is not my fault for the camera being faulty.
Another issue i want to highlight is that the back side of my phone within 15 days of purchase had air bubbles and they look filthy. Service centers here claim that it is a cosmetic issue. Why would apple make a device which gets cosmetologist issues within 10 days of purchase. No one has a concrete answer to that.
Considering all such above scenarios i have now decided to move to the consumer court to file a complaint. I do not want a repaired phone now. I want either a complete replacement of the phone or apple compensating on my device and taking it back.
I hope someone in this world related to apple would read this email and take necessary actions.
For god sake, at least someone should have honored me being a loyal apple customer. Me, my family has more than 11 apple devices and we always boast about being a proud apple user.
Awaiting some reply from somewhere.
