I bought an iphone 6s in august 2016, the phone was working fine until september 2017 and suddenly i get this no service in my phone on and off, but after the software update and switching and resetting settings, it used to work and the phone was working like this until april 2018. From the mid of this month, the phone does not show the signal even after the reset options. I call up customer care and they open a case id for this and the reference number is "[protected]". I follow the steps of resetting the phone as advised by them over the phone, connecting it to itunes, etc whatever was advised and then same issue. So the apple care people ask me to visit the service center. I go to an apple service center in whitefield called planetcare, bangalore in inorbit mall, then i explain the issue, then put in some other sim and say that there is no service. I said i know that and what is the solution, they say resetting the phone and i say that it has already been done 4 or 5 times, immediately they say replacement is the only option, i ask don't you check for any hardware issues, they directly say no. I call up customer care again and they say this is not the way to do a diagnostics and they raise a complaint against the store. I am not bothered about that and was advised to go to some other center and i go to ample technologies, hsr layout. They say that they are aware of the case since the information was passed on to them by customer service and they say that we will do the diagnostics. I asked what would that be and they say software reset again and since the product is not under warranty, i have to bare those charges. I said i am ok to pay for it, but let me know what the problem is and after an hour discussion with both customer care and technician at the service center, the service center person agrees to the diagnostics (Hardware). I get a mail in 2 hours time after this and below is the content of that mail which is also attached as an image.
"checked and found device showing no service and black dead pixel on the top corner. Restore the device to latest ios. Post restoration checked with known good sim cards found device showing no service. Found display has black dead pixel. Hence device needs to be replace under paid service. Note: device is beyond economical repair, device is returning back to customer"
They have done the same reset that i did and charging rs. 1100 for this. I call up customer care again and explain the situation and without finding the problem (Actual problem), why should i pay which was what was agreed before i gave the phone (This conversation goes for more than 1 hour) and at the end after discussing with all their supervisors, managers, etc they say that i have to pay.
Apple products once bought is a dead investment, these hopeless people cannot find what the issue is and replacement of the phone is the only solution they know. This clearly shows the service people's incompetency. This was clearly a hardware issue and nothing related to software, but they will not do it and they just make money in the name of paid service by doing the same software resets. Please do not waste your money on this product and their service. Not sure why they have mentioned get the repair done in apple's website when they do not do it. Until there is no issue, the product is extraordinary, but once you get it, how much ever costly your phone is, be prepared to pay for the phone again or use it as an ipod (Costlier ipod). The rs.50000 i paid is a costliest version if ipod now. Pathetic is what i could related to these people.
