I filed a complaint for this on March 12 in an Apple service center, but they told mic is jammed cant repair it and its already tampered. I told them am the only person using it and no way to tamper it as I dint gave to any other service center before. Later called Apple iCare and filed a complaint there also, they spoke to the senior engineer at the service center and told the mic is jammed and cant cover it hardware warranty. I asked it should be coverable as it comes under hardware failure only. They told will escalate the issue and get back. But dint got any response for 3 weeks. Later while I called again they told phone is already tampered so only they are not solving the issue and closed the call. The other day itself while talking I cleared that its not tampered and they talked to senior engineer and told will escalate for Mic issue only but now they changed it as tampered issue and telling it wont be coverable.
