I am making a formal complain against Unicorn Andheri West, Mumbai.
My MacBook Pro (MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), serial number C02QM370G8WL) qualifies for battery replacement under battery replacement program. I submitted the laptop to unicorn Andheri West for the same. Today I got a call saying that I need to collect my laptop and it does not qualify under the program as it has been unscrewed before, has modified parts and it has signatures on the parts.
I reached the service centre for the collection and I got charged 2500/- for diagnosis. So basically I paid 2500/- just for diagnosis without actually getting the battery replaced.
My question to apple is why did your service centre even bother to diagnose my laptop when the technician saw signatures and modified parts under the lid? Because according to apple policy any apple product that has been opened by a non authority cannot get serviced under apple policies. I have personally never got anything replaced from the laptop since I have it, so I wouldn’t know. Unnecessarily I had to pay 2500/- for a service I didnt even require.
I had bought this laptop second hand from a dealer and that dealer made me sign on the parts for ethical reasons, so that I don't blame them for wrongful business deal.
I need the amount reimbursed or battery replaced under the program. Your technician should not have diagnosed the laptop when he can see signatures and modified parts as soon as he unscrewed the laptop.
Please get back on this.
