Case facts are as below:
The amount (Rs. 15200) was paid for a Mhada lottery 2014 in Account no
PGDR/MAHARASHTRA HOUSING AR/ (Designated A/c no) of Mhada) from my
aforementioned account no on 05.06.2014 vide transaction ID
([protected]). When I checked with the Mhada Authority I was told
that they have not received any funds from my Ban of Baroda (BOB)
account in their Axis bank account. I asked BOB about the status of this
traction whether successful or not, accordingly BOB confirmed me via
mail dated July 17, 2014 that the amount is not returned in BOB
account and paid to Axis bank and hence I was asked to check with
Mhada. Based on the confirmation received from BOB I kept following
up with Mhada authority that the money is already credited and they
need to check for this, I use to literally call up everyday Mhada,
visit their branch most frequently for this disputed transaction. I
also wrote mails to BOB on this issue. I was told by Mhada that
tracking this transaction will take time. BOB was still of the view
that money is transferred to Mhada and they did not bother to check and
revert. Finally after several follow-ups, BOB very conveniently vide
its mail dated November 18, 2014 confirmed that the transaction was
unsuccessful and the money was refunded back to me in BOB A/c on
November 18, 2014. In this entire process being an innocent
accountholder I had to suffer for almost 5 months because of the
negligence of the Customer Service / bank of Baroda officials, since
both Mhada and Bank of Baroda did not addressed the issue on time. I
had to go through frustration, mental agony because of non co-operative
behavior of the bank. Post refund of my money I wrote several mails
to Bank for the inconvenience caused to me and for the interest part
of the money which was lying in banks account, but neither branch
nor the customer service felt the need to understand and resolve
the issue. I also escalated this issue to Nodal Officer (Swati Marathe)
but even nodal officer was helpless to get me justice. I have been
following with Mr. Anil Contractor (Debitcard operation Head – BOB) for
almost one month now but he also not paying any attention in this case.
Bank never felt the need to apologies the customer for the inconvenience
caused because of their carelessness. My humble request to you is an
action should be taken on the officer who was responsible for this
negligence and to pay the accountholder the applicable interest on this
disputed deposit of Rs. 15200/- and suitable compensasattion for the mental agoney caused because of banks negligence. Again this is not just a matter of interest, but also the approach bank applies to handle the
innocent customer, hence your support is required to set before the bank an example not to take the customers grievances lightly. Further like to update that the case was raised with Banking Ombusdman office but even they did not paid attention in it.
