[Resolved]  BookMyBai — Fraud service, poor quality maids and no experience to run the business

This agency is a cheater and NO ONE SHOULD TAKE THEIR SERVICE. Absolutely waste of time, unqualified maids and big promises. I have used services of 2-3 agencies before and they were much better than this option. I felt I paid for maid that doesn't help and their team could not resolve basic questions. Be careful when you go to them.

Pathetic Service and a fraudulent agency...have sent so many emails to them which are supposedly addressed by their CEO; have not got a single response...I have lost my entire amount of money with no service...better go for a local agency than this so called professional and corporate cheats!

Quite a sad experience. First & foremost the quality of maids is not at par. Secondly, the moment you have paid BBM their service fee the maid starts throwing tantrums at work forcing you to sack her. And then you can keep following up with them for a replacement till eternity.

In my case the maid left in one month and then for 15 days these guys didn't respond to our query for a replacement. We were left with no option and ended up hiring a new one through a different agency.

Be wary of such instances before paying them their fee coz refunding the money is not in their DNA and they will keep referring to the one page contract which specifies the same. You know Anupam Sinhal, building revenue for the company at the cost of customer experience will not lead your company anywhere. India is a price sensitive market so you better deliver or else you will also perish like your predecessors.

Good I read the reviews before making Rs 1000 payment on your website. I would have got cheated. Anupam I believe before asking for payment of Rs 1000 you need to provide a contact number and address so that we can discuss and then make the payment

We place over 100 maids on a daily basis. We have offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore. We take each and every complaint very seriously. We are building an ecosystem and organising the unorganised market. We are not here to steal Rs. 1000 from anyone. Most of the complaints here are fake complaints by competitors whose business is affected because of our service.

The reason we do not provide contact numbers is because we get over 300 requirements everyday and my call center is not yet equipped to handle that many inbound calls. Once you make the payment of Rs. 1000 you will immediately be assigned a coordinator and the contact number is displayed. However I leave it up to your judgement to trust us or not. It surprises me that you posted a "consumer complaint" even before trying our services.

We are professionals out here. Not any fly by night agency. I am a B Tech myself and understand that a company can only be built on good service.

All the genuine complaints are immediately followed up with a standard reply which says email us your number and we will address your concern on priority. That priority however does not seem to have any meaning.
Get your acts in place Anupam Sinhal & Team ! This is not how one operates in the service industry.

Pathetic is still a modest word to describe this company's services.

Dear Mr. Gagan,

Most of the complaints filed here are by small maid agencies whose business has got effected because of our business and service. They want to spoil our name in the industry. The reason why I ask them to email their complaints is because we do not find any record or client under their name. After my reply here, no one has emailed me with their concern. There is no way for a genuine client like you to verify whether the complaint on this consumer forum is genuine or not.

In terms of your requirement, I am failing to understand where did we go wrong. I know we could not service your requirement because of the specifics of your requirement. The Rs. 1000 advance that you have paid has already been refunded to you long time back. If the purpose of filing/posting such comments is just to defame our company then I think it is a not a correct thing. We place over 1000 maids every months in different cities in India. There can be some cases where we could not service the requirement and same was communicated to you and others and the money paid in advance was refunded promptly. So I dont know the reason why you are calling this pathetic. For example: If you try to book a ola cab and that given point of time no cabs are available, then this does not mean that the company is pathetic. Its just that no one was available at that time. You can always book later.

Request you to stop defaming startups like us who are trying to solve such big problems like trusted and reliable domestic helps.

The very proof of the kind of services you provide lies in the fact that so many people have raised their concerns here and also at several other forums. And these are genuinely affected people who will not be fooled by your reasons of your competitors running a campaign to bring you down. Had you been providing genuine and ethical services, you would had no need to reply to so many complaints here and and at several other forums.
It is better that you focus on providing transparent and efficient services before the hand of the law catches hold of you to put and end to such fraudulent activities.

We as an organization is completely transparent. We reply to all the complaints out here because we are ethical and want to reach an appropriate closure. If you have read the complaints of the other agencies, they dont even bother to reply to the concerns here. I hope you appreciate the fact that we as a company look into each and every complaint and make sure they are genuine and try and close them if they are genuine

such huge number of complaints cannot be false.. Book my bai will soon get tired justifying so may allegations. I am also one such sufferer of book my bai's services. on requirement of a live- in maid, a maid by name rani was sent to me Right on the 4th day, she stole Rs 5000/- cash from my purse which she accepted on being caught. We discontinued her services after intimating to bookmy bai and also PAID HER COMPLETELY FOR THE NUMBER OF DAY SHE WORKED WITH US. We did not place a police complaint out of sympathy for her children. As a replacement another maid servant was sent. when she joined the work, we realized that she was a TOTAL BEGINNER in household work much against what The agency promises. The agency promises to provide quality service. The cost of maintaining her was more than the cost we incurred to hire her services.yet we have maintained them very well. So by all means we were at total loss.We still tolerated all this till we discovered that she was unhygienic to the core (scratching her private parts while working).i have an infant at my home. out of disgust we had to terminate her services after intimating the agency and PAID HER COMPLETELY FOR THE NUMBER OF DAYS SHE WAS WITH US inspite of all the trouble borne by us. i have contacted the agency many times after that for a maid.. yet to receive a reply..The way the representatives reply is absolutely unethical. the agency functions in a very unprofessional manner. They dont know the maids they send on a call. where is all the promise to satisfy the customers requirements?

There is no reason why you should be writing incorrect facts in this open forum. Please be informed that I am not talking about any 1000/- rupees advance. I was charged one full month's maid salary (12000/-) as service charges for a maid who resigned after 30 days of joinining. For a maid who worked at my place for 30 days, I ended up paying 2 month's pay (1 months pay to you as fee and one month pay as salary to the maid). Thoroughly Ridiculous that you write in this open forum that I had been refunded with my advance !! Please get your facts right and speak to Maria - your customer service rep OR Nizam who intervened when I threatened them with a police complaint.

It is extremely irresponsible of you to have stated 100% wrong facts on this forum.

All same story, how can people have similar issues and yet agency saying or doing anything . Had the same problem with this agency . Paid then 1000 rupees first for service . Got 3-4 maids for inteview and we finally concluded on a maid and decided to confirm . Worked properly for 2-3 days and then started creating issues . On questioning anything, only one answer we get, call agency I don't won't to work. Finally we got a call from her native stating some family issue, but later it was something else . She don't won't to conitue work . Spoke to agency executive told her all stuff and she told me that she will call maid and check .we waited for 4-5 days no response from agency and then we started calling maid ourself . Finally post trying many times, got answer that she is not coming. Immediately informed agency and it was looking that they are hearing all this first time which was not the case . Finally after reaching out them many times, was told that within 2-3 days replacement will be done . Again waited and call them finally within 2 days it will done . And I am still waiting ... they dont even update costumer .. what kind of service just fraud .

After reading reviews which looks common realised they will some how get a maid join you and take remaining amount . Within a week you will be looking and running behind replacement .

Fix you service or else pretty soon no one will use it .

I am glad I read all this, I was recently duped by an agency called crewonjob from where I got 2 maids and maid huge commision. Thankfully in my case they worked for 2 months yet I incurred a loss of 18k. No replacement as well as no refund as yet.
Same story of maids claiming they are mis treated, stealing money and disappearing

I really dont understand why such a racket? why do the maids come and then go away, maybe agency pays them a part of the commision so they are happy getting money without working??

I had hired a maid for cleaning purpose whose first day at work was yesterday I.e 14.3.17. Today on 15.3.17 she dint turn up and on calling her she said she is not feeling well and won’t be able to come hence forth, this is the worst service provided by your team, the cordinator assigned to us (Maria) is not available, her phone is coming switched off. I feel cheated and think this is a fraud company. Kindly revert back as soon as possible.

I had heard plenty about Bookmybai in the media, and thought "wow, what a great solution for single people".
- I visited the website, put in my preferences
- The website "teased" me with hundreds of maids that matched my preferences; to proceed, it asked for a deposit of INR 1000 (refundable)
- I thought ok, if i'm going to get a maid from this website anyway, what difference
- I received a call from a 'Sameera' to double check my preferences, saying she would get back to me - it has now been over 2 months and total radio silence
- This company/website is a scam - they depend on people to give them deposits and forget about it. This is how they run their business and this is straight up FRAUD.
- I found a maid within one week through the network of drivers/maids in the building. Your service is redundant, your business model is terrible, and you are going to destroy whatever reputation you have all on your own. Absolutely pathetic and no one should even visit their website.

We availed your services from 23rd May’17 for a Maid to look after our 11 month old infant Boy. Since the beginning journey was not smooth, the maids that your executive Pooja sent were not willing to work and we also didn’t like them. We shortlisted Bhakti out of the lot that were shown to us.
In the initial days our kid was little hesitant to go to her so bhakti asked if she can do other household chores, since there was no work we thought it’ll be a good idea if she can be a helping hand in other household activities. We never pressure her and even ask her not to do any work if she is not comfortable. We even allowed her to sleep for 1-2 hour during the day when baby was sleeping. One day she burnt the bedsheet while ironing baby’s cloth, and also damaged baby’s pram while washing it. We never said anything to her as it can happen with anyone. Initially things were good and we were also adjusting to the new change but within week she took Saturday and Sunday (27th /28th ) off stating she was unwell and her mother in law has passed away but she joined back on Monday. That day onwards she started acting differently and on 2nd June she picked her bag at 12 noon and said i am going please give me my salary. We were confused and shocked and didn’t understand her reaction, we said we’ll talk to agency about this.
We spoke to pooja about the entire incident and she assured that she’ll send a replacement right away but we need pay the salary to Bhakti. Today is 4th and never heard from pooja for the past 2 days. Meanwhile Bhakti is calling and asking us if she can come back.
After the entire incident we feel cheated. Many people have warned us not to hire an agency as they’ll take a good amount of money initially and the maid they provide will often quit and we’ll keep on chasing agency for the replacement. I guess now we understand the truth.
Please consider this as a written complaint and i do not want any replacement from your agency. I would request for a refund as the services provided by you were not as per promise and i am willing to go to any level to get my money back.
I’ll wait for your revert and post that i’ll take a legal action.

I am following Bookmybai for more than 6 months, reading blog posts from your side and was much optimistic on this new innovative venture.
However after reading complaints and your responses here, I have now made my mind to stay away from this service. Why? here are few reasons - and yes I am trying to be unbiased by considering views of yours, maids and consumers like me.

1.Sorry, but harsh things first- You seem rude and non- professional here:
I can consider that there would be some other competitor service providers, who must be trying to blame for no reasons. However your responses lack professionalism.
a. You are not providing any numbers from your side- lacks transparency...even after considering your excuses on that
b. You are trying to search user by its name- which obviously cant be the real to have privacy.
c. You are not addressing most common problem - Bai came first- started working and then started her tantrums. Hope you have changed policy by paying them a loyalty bonus after an year and not immediately.

2. It must be difficult (just like us) for you(read your company) too to manage Bai tantrums. This is the big area of employment where almost all professional standards are not followed. Its not easy to change them. But not impossible!
Learn from Ladies who employ them- their untold leaves, gossiping, not doing work as promised, asking/ suggesting for bonus and hikes everytime... well, its unending...

3. Understanding their problems is one thing- and professionalism is another.
I do understand how poor they are, how many health problems they face...plus if the husband is alchohol addict, then god only can save them. But >>>>>
a.That does not mean they can't inform their employer about their leaves in advance..or even when she realizes that she cant come.
b. That does not mean she can skip some works when she comes or try to find shortcuts leaving work half done.
c. She should be aware that its not employers' fault and She should be professional enough to give her best!
d. Gossips(वो madam है न..उनका घर कितना गंदा रेहता है - मुझे पसंद नही ऐसे घर मे काम करना ...(means you should keep your home clean- I am supposed to clean that already clean home)
सभी madam मुझे दिवाली मे सारी और पूरा पगार देती है(means you should give)
मै सिर्फ आपके लीये इतने कम मे काम कर रही हू - अगर कोई पुछे तो मेरा रेट झ्यादा बताना ...LOL.)

4. When professionals like you start a business in this area, we expect to have solutions over these... for both- maids and employers..
a. Maids could be paid professionally- In their bank account, with some deductions monthly- which can add to their savings or PPF like things.
b. There could be some health related activity or provision by which they would be encouraged to avoid sick leaves.
c. there could be appraisal system, where maids could be rated publicly(by not tossing their privacy)

I hope this is enough for now...

PS- I have lost all hopes of getting good maid and am depending mostly on appliances!
I had paid the initial booking amount to find a nanny. I received no response from the team and found one on my own. I have been trying to get a refund for the past 1 month from them. When I call they promise to refund the money that day, but nothing is done.
Absolutely a hopeless agency with arrogant staff. I contacted them and fixed a babysitter on 20th january 2018. The maid took a leave on 23 itself. After working for 1 day she is quoating some family issues and saying that she will come from 1st february. I contacted the agency about this and asked for refund beacuse its only 2 days and I am facing so much trouble already. A girl named Mehzabin working for the agency is extremely curt and rude. She had earlier not mentioned that only 3 replacements are sent now she is lying on my face and telling me that she had told me.
I have hired from other ageancies earlier who are much cheaper in fee and provide better service with 1 year contract while book my bai is for 6months only.
I request the concerned team to refund my money as it is only 2 days.

I request everyone across India to stay away from Bookmybai.com. It is nothing but a fraud company.

They have tied up with few maids and then they send them to work for few days. Maid will work for 10-15 days and will leave the job without informing. They don't have enough maids and their whole intention is to receive money and then run off.

After that you call and follow up with Bookmybai.com and they will never respond to mails. I have sent them 3 mails in two weeks without any reply. They are disconnecting my phone and not arranging any replacement.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDLENT COMPANY.

This is to inform you that I am very disappointed with your services. Following are my issues:

It is tough to connect with your executives as either they don't pick my phone or they are on leave.
I did interview of 2 maids.
First maid was allocated to me from 23rd July, 2018 who didn't even know how to clean the bed and how to wash milk bottle of infant. Then on same day while returning to home she got injured so she stopped coming from next day.
After another maid was allocated as there was no other options so I was bound to choose the only maid left out 2 interviewed earlier.
This maid had following issues:
She didn't know how to clean the bed
she used to feel sleeply as she was leaving her home so early
she couldn't iron the clothes of baby as she had fear of electricity
she couldn't clean things placed on height as she had bad experience in past
she couldn't do head message as she had injury in her hands
she couldn't whipe the wet floor of bathroom after cleaning the clothes of baby as she has the principle of not touching whiper after bath.
She didn't come on 1st Aug after taking her salary of July which she informed me after various calls around 9 AM that she has to go to hospital
So, I fired her after trying for a week on 01st Aug itself.
Now its the 3rd day and I don't have any maid. Yesterday I was informed that two maids would come today for interview at 8 AM but only one came today after follow ups at 12 15 PM. It took her 1 hour 45 minutes to come from her home to bus stop near my home and then 30 min walk from bus stop to my home. As travel time is more so she was confused but being practical I know she won't be able to manage.
Now your executive is again not picking my phone.
So, considering all these facts, I don't find your company a professional and a good service provider. Hence I request you to refund my money immediately otherwise I will be bound to take some action.

Also, their executive Ms Gitanjali is making me fool since 4 days by saying that maid is on the way, maid is coming, we'll give u a maid blah blah blah. Nobody is listening to my complaint. I have a small baby of months and I am working as a CFO and full day struggling with their team to either give me a maid or refund my money.. Most pathetic service company I have ever seen.
