Can someone please raise an strict action against auto without meters in Udupi?

Any auto you choose to take a ride - there is no meter and they will charge whatever they feel like.

I don't understand why this has not been highlighted.

Please someone highlight this to Udupi DC or someone higher....

Today at 12 pm i took auto from kamakhya temple to bhangagarh and tge decided amount to be paid was rs.350 which was very high but after i reached paltanbazar, infront of hotel kiranshree i left the auto and when i got off and asked the auto driver of how much the fare is he said 300 which was not at all asceptable and then tge driver started misbehaving eith me that i have to give him 300. The auto no. Is as-01-ec-1253.

So i would request you to take serious action with this driver and if not cancel his driver licence and if you people didnt take action i wil go to hugger office for this matter and request you guys to start meter service in auto's for better communication and for the goodness of the image of this city guwahati which is very poor.

Early morning i m came from silchar to isbt guwahati after that i take auto to came jalukbhari for the easy way to go airport but auto driver will take fare un autorised... Do not work meter also just only 9km from isbt to jalukbhari driver says... But he will take charge 150rupees i have a video and picture i[censored] dont take action reg. This matter... Then i will do some thing and complain against

This is to register a formal complaint against auto-rickshaw with license no GJ-1 BY-9388 for overcharging me (License No: 072038/04). Mobile printed on the rickshaw is [protected]

My wife and I had landed from flight 6E 937 Indigo from Chennai (Around 17:00 hrs) and we caught up the above mentioned auto-rickshawawala and after lot of pestering we agreed to go to Sunrise Park, Vastrapur on metre (with additional Rs 30/- parking charges, that they demand from us). As we were pretty tired we agreed. Near Akbarnagar Chowk (on 132 feet ring road), the rickshaw conked off because of lack of oil. We agreed to pay the fare and catch the next auto. However, the auto metre (not the flag posted) read the reading as 248 points, which is un imaginable and the auto driver charged us Rs 95/- plus Rs 30/- i.e. Rs 125/-. We were astounded, as last week i.e. on 09/08/2012 we had reached airport and we were charged around Rs 150/-.

Now this was during the evening and there isn't any extra charge we had to bear. We protested against the charges and had an arguement with him. He was unwilling to change his stand and also wanted the full parking amount. The other auto-drivers gathered together and also said that airport fares are different for rest of the city which we do agree.

I am doing my duty of informing you. I expect that you will heed the complaints of citizens like me who have no recourse to law except to write such letters after being exploited. There isn't any proof of evidence for such an offence. We as citizens can only draw attention to this and expect curbing such acts by auto drivers. In case there is some action taken, we would be glad if it is shared with against the erring auto-rickshaw driver, b) Please advise me on how to go about in such cases in future and c) tell me also what steps you plan to take to solve the problem on a permanent basis.

I Sahadeb Paramanik visited Guwahati with my family , daughter and my mother& father. On 29 May 2011 at 4.30 p.m Near the Guwahati planterium one auto rickshaw ( Veh No. AS-01-BC-1546) driver fraud with me. he said me that from there to nabagraha temple fare Rs. 80 with back. But when we were gone at the top of hill he said that to give payment Rs. 300/- . where in top no any vehicle stand , and we were very upset. He talk very rude behavior and un expectable words in front my family and mother, father. and he charged at last Rs. 150/-

Therefore I requested to you take action against the above Auto rickshaw driver veh No. AS-01-BC-1546

I work at Yerawada Panchsheel tech Park. All the auto rikshaws standing outside the office never get ready to go to Viman Nagar, if at all they agree they ask for fixed amount (40 to 60 Rs) depending on how late it is in the evening. By meter the amount does not exceeds 26 Rs.

Same is case while trying to catch an Auto from Kalyani Nagar(near Gold Big Cinemas, Big Bazaar) and Viman Nagar(all places).

In Viman Nagar area even to go 0.5 KM, we have to pay fixed amount of 20 Rs.

Rikshaws standing at stands rarely agree to go by meter.

Sent mail to RTO but it seems no one looks at the e-mail address as it bounced back as OVERQUOTA. Don't know who will take some action against them as it gets very difficult to commute specially for ladies.

Dear RTO officer, Goregaon East.
This is to bring to your notice the troubles that commuters face every morning from the entrance of Royal Palms in aarey colony. The auto-rickshaws here routinely refuse to take the passengers to short distances. Very often, they sneer and say that the RTO can't help. There's one rickshaw in particular- billa no.: 260867, with the auto registration number: 8614 who is very rude while dealing with passengers.
This needs immediate attention and help from the department. I hope that the needful will be done.
Also, addressing the readers of this site - can you please suggest me the ways to follow-up on this complaint.
