I got a call from a lady who claims to be from ICICI Bank Credit Card team somedays back, informing me that I need to pay some Rs. 13000 due for a credit card (she claims) I used back in 2003). Though I asked her to mail me details of the card - last transactions, card number, etc., she says she cant send me these details as a mail but can only provide me card number over phone. After requesting her to connect me to her Manager, the said due payment came down to Rs. 3000.
I went to the local ICICI bank to investigate on the card and gather some details. But my wait for almost 30 minutes turned futile as the system couldnt retrieve the card details.
Since then the ICICI lady has turned out to be a pain for me. She calls me everyday atleast 6 times, though I have assured her that I shall again check back with the local branch.
There is no consideration to wasting customers time. She expects me to go immediately and just pay without checking anything. Today the lady called me 10 times (I didn’t bother to take the call as I was in a meeting and had my own targets to meet).
What action can I take against the bank which remembered my dues after almost 10 years and has been harassing me for almost 2 weeks now.
