[Resolved]  Reliance Retail Ltd. - Reliance Fresh — Beware - Be cautious while you shop at Reliance Fresh

I am a resident of Chennai and (used to) be a regular shopper at Relaince Fresh - Porur store besides in other areas. I would share my experience & would advise you to be cautious while shopping at this Stores
i) Overcharging –
a.Bill price higher than M.R.P
ii) Schemes by Manufacturer
a.Mentioned on product packaging are not offered at billing counters & communicated that scheme is not valid for Reliance Stores or sometimes you even wont be bothered to take one.
iii) Hot Offers
a.Items shown as hot offers on shelf charged at M.R.P at the billing counters
b. On enquiry, it is communicated that offers are not valid and expired. On complaint the discounted labels bar codes are immediately withdrawn from shelf but to my surprise the same come back the next day. I have specially observed this
c. While announcements are underway, the consumers are told at exit that special gift offer was valid till stock last. While actually consumers are still shopping due to high value purchase required.

iv) Multiple billing
a. Single item billed twice as the counter guy uses the gun twice very fast without consumer coming to know.

In the past, I have caught Reliance 7 times out of 11 times shopped at your stores (post I started noting these & catching Reliance store guys playing this gimmicks)

On each instance Shop supervisor or Manager advised me not to complaint at Reliance office & they would take necessary actions.

For my purchase of 2nd March 08, on insistence that I would like to make a formal complaint (as it was becoming consistent), the following was observed.
a)No customer complaint Form at any of your stores,
b)In name of customer complaint register they have a simple register which is mutilated, and kept at back room locked, which I believe no one reads
c) On insisting for where to make complaints they hand you a feedback form which has to handed back over to the same supervisor with no assurance that same would be reported.

Mr. Rajshekaran S. – Area Manger for the store was shameless and rude and kept smiling while all the discrepancies were shown to him. I challenged him that as always I can show him lots of items where shelf Hot offers or price stickers don’t match with the billing price at counter. He agreed that it is common with all Reliance Fresh stores across and is part of company Policy and he is helpless in this.
It seems that during training, they are advised to work this to increase their revenue . It is part of the training module for increasing revenues.It happens as no consumer is bothered to notice that at billing and just want to buy and leave then bother what he is paying for.
On being asked if he felt ashamed for cheating consumers, his views was he felt so working for this company. He also refused initially to give Mumbai office address but on much insistence advised one of his juniors to do so.

This note is for all who shop at Reliance Fresh stores.

I fully agree with this complaint and have same experiance at reliance store on april -2008 i purchased for Rs. 769.00 at relience fresh madurai villapuram branch and gave my credit card. The billing boy swap in one m/c, he says it is not working so he went to next billing counter and swap again. when I received my credit card bill i found that purchase amount was billed twice. when i approch the branch manager on 25/5/2008 he asked my to give a compliant with in 10 days it will credit in my credit card a/c. But till date i was not credited. With in 2 days i got a call from coimbatore regional office for verifying the complaint after that there is no improvement. when i ask coimbatore office the office incharge reply very rudly don't talk here you contact chennai office. When ever i contact chennai office they reply it was sent to mumbai office and it was credited in my a/c. But there is no credit from relience fresh. In last six months i spend more time and more than i lost in relience. It shows there is no customer care . After six months i really got fedup with relience retail service. So please be careful before you purchase in relience.

hi, i had recharged my rim mobile from reliance fresh, indore of 650 rupees for std free(rim to rim) at night from 11pm to 6am, and 578 rupees balance for making other calls, but after recharge i received a sms in according to sms i got 438 rupees but after few min.i ceck my balance than that was 413 even though i was notreive or make any call during that period.what is it? why my balance is not given as std balance.
why not given me balance 578 from 650 recharge.

im also a regular customer of reliance fresh, habsiguda street no-8, hyderabad.when i asked an extra carry bag to carry things i purchased, the watchman(evening shift) was very rude, insted of giving me, he abused me and said "we dont need customers like just get away from here".what can i do, i just stopped visiting reliance fresh.
I have had similar experiences . I purchased 3 packets of Biscuits and was charged for 6 which I realized when I reached home.This happened at Reliance Fresh, Ranjeet Avenue, Amritsar. It takes so much of time to get things billed and they don't bill some items and keep the money in their pocket, thus cheating the people they work for. When I pointed to the manager, he acted as if convinced and since I work nearby, told me that I would be given the feedback. I haven't got the same till date . You try to be good citizens by pointing wrong things but our system is corrupt. If any sincere senior from Reliance Fresh can read this and let Mr. Ambani know that he needs to check his grassroots himself...
I have similar multiple bad experiences with Reliance FResh stores of HSR Layout (near Canara Bank, ORR) and Koramangala Bangalore stores. Most of the time there are problems in billing like over charging and multiple scans of same item... and once caught the HSR layout store manager and his team always insist that once charged they donot have any option to refund money. They will ask to take any other item for the over charged amount and will request on not to complaint to any one in Reliance or will say that the money we ask back will be taken from the poor guy working on the counter (trying to make customer emotional).. Not that other retailers are perfect. The Food Bazaar on Hosur Road or Big Bazaar near Forum Mall also have wrong billing problems. Both these and also Reliance Fresh many times have refused to offer published promotions. All these companies are there to suck your hard earned money. Many corrupt employees sell stuff (small items like chocolates, candies etc) take money and do not add those to bills. All sort of problems. Basically they all suck big time, so be careful and always check your bills. Spend few seconds during and after billing and ensure that you file a complaint.
i Have book big tv at[protected] but still todey they are not install yet i had called many time to custmer care but they did not clear my problem they are make false statement the service of big tv is very poor i suggest every bodey to go with tata sky or dish tv
as for the above comments thankgod i have not been cheated till date but an experiance yesterday was really cool after making the purchases i gave a rs 500 note to the person at the billing counter and she called the supervisor mr rajendran to verify the note after a physical verification he came up with a novel idea of refusing the note citing that the spectales of gandhiji that appear in the water mark are oval and not round hence the note cannot be accepted tells me that this was taught in their training session the note was verified at all the banks and it was confirmed that there was no problem with it at all so much for customer service such a big organisation and not a single machine for verification of the notes are kept.they use trial and error method.keep it up.shabbir trichy
I have from hissar (haryana) . here is 2 shops of reliance fresh 1is giving scheme & other is not giving. so i m unhappy.
i am living in mohali (chd), i am a regular custoer of reliance fresh and have been issue a card number, they said from the date of issuing card number u will get permanent card in three months, it is now full one year and i used to check my point they were above 700, but one day i have lost my card, and when i told them tht they shouls redeem my points to me orsend me a permanent card, they refused to do so and said that this card has never been used and dos not exist, they dont give nay omlaint number or any phone number.
some stict action has to be taken against them to teach them a lesson .

149 super value voucher — cheating

i m airtel customer our mobile number is [protected].12/11/2008 i recharge 149 super value vaucher because there calling chrge local a2aonly 29 paise/min.but now they are deducting 35paise/min why.
Im from mangalore . I had purchased sandals worth rs.1698 from reliance footprints & i was given a reliance one card.It is a temporary card which is valid only for three months.but it is nearly a year now since the purchase I have still not recieved permanent card till date.
i want retail sector so i want to go in this sector
Similar experience to share...this is regarding an offer ...when you buy 1 kg grape @ 34 / kg you get a cualiflower free. When I reached the counter I was told the offer is valid on free tomatoes and whn I objected they billed me another grape variety @ 84 / kg with free cualiflower...I lost Rs.50 in the single deal..as far as customer service is concerned no one cares...its what they have been taught and should anyone go overboard they have "other" means to deal with such...goons with bosses who control the economy...
I had purchased a pair of catwalk chappals for my daughter at Reliance footprint chennai on 23.02.2009 evening. My daughter wore it on 25.02.2009 while going to college. While walking a liitle, the chappal brokedown and she had to return home and wore the old chappals and went to college. On 26.02.2009 at 8.30 pm I went to the Reliance showroom and produced the faulty chappals. I also submitted the cash receipt to them as a proof . One Salesman by name Kumar started to argue with me and he was joined by a security personnal manning the doors. Argument was in a such huge noice that all the other customers came to my rescue and defended my case as the chappal were just 2 days old and that too without wearing for an hour. This incidence has really shocked me and there was no suitable person in charge of this showroom. I want to take up the case of the salesman and the security and I dont mind loosing the chappal I bought for Rs 500/-
THe customer Service at Reliance Fresh in Coimbatore at NSR road is equally bad. I was given a Reliance card about 4 months back when I started going to the shop. When I approaced the counter a week back and asked for the number of points accumulated, the girl who was talking casually on the phone all the whiledid not even look up but grabbed the card and threw it aside. She did not even acknowledge my presence. The billing takes a long time and the sales are very poorly trained. When we ask about some queries, the common refrain is that we dont know. or the offer is no longer there. I for one have stopped going to Reliance and gone bcak to my old kirana where the service is far far above what Reliance can ever offer

they are good sellus.

they are telling lies and their services are rediculous.

they take months and years in supplying products.
