[Resolved]  State Bank of India — wrong balance and lien amount shown

What the hell is going on in SBI, same thing happen with me i suppose to have my a/c bal 551.63 but now i am getting lien amount as 20000 and current bal is -19448.37. Please take this seriously and as high priority.

More than 2000/- suppose to be there in my account. Now showing zero balance and a lien amount of 8000/-.

Sad part is I can't take my own money, what could be more worse than this nowadays.

My saving account bal show Rs. 2509 cr But lien amount show Rs.8936 dr my available bal show Rs. 00, what my correct bal

My Actual Balane in my account is About 1900
But Lien Balance is 357000.

What is this lein balance. Why they had adapted lein amount to my account. Also what should i do to make my lein amount Zero. Unable to use my Account. My Bank account is very Important or me. Please solve my problem. Waiting for ur reply...

Just submit your PAN and Aaadar to your branch. Then they will release the amount. It is RBI rule

I am Anjeline K. Jose, a SB account holder from SBI, Lalbaug Branch, Mangalore. It has been more than 6 months, since a lien amount of Rs. 2, 500/- created on my account for no reason. When enquired with the Bank Manager, initially they did not know the reason and after 4-5 months, they said that the amount has been transferred to swiss bank. I do not understand the logic behind it. Neither the Bank is taking any action regarding this even after several requests and also, submitting a written letter to the Bank Manager, as instructed by him.

This is really ridiculous.

To add to the previous comment, I am in compliance with the KYC requirements. I had first submitted all the documents (self-attested copy), which the bank misplaced and I had given all the documents again. Do not appreciate such service from one of the so called "best" Bank.

My Actual Balane in my account is 6, 950.97/
But Lien Balance is 10, 000.00/., By This my available balance is 00.00/


I am unable to understand what is this?

SBI is cheating to everyone?

Yes SBI is doing frequently, I think we will escalate at Media level...

I am also come across the same problem on 17/06/2016, without any information they sent a message stating that holding of 50000 is created in your account and my available balance was 21000 and due to this hold amount it went to 0 and it is showing that lien amount is50000, how can i solve this problem

ers maintaining savings Bank Accounts and Current Accounts need to maintain stipulated minimum balance in their accounts for the schemes under which they are opened. Under the said schemes they are eligible for some services and if they fail to maintain minimum balance the bank will charge minimum balance charges as specified in the service charges annexure disclosed on the website and informed to them at the time of opening of the account.

When minimum balance charges are run, if sufficient balance does not exist in the accounts, charges are not debited to the respective customers account but a lien for amount is marked for the accounts for which charges are pending from 1.1.2010. The system will note a lien on this amount and allow withdrawals only on the balance amount available in the account after excluding the lien amount.

Customers are advised to ensure to maintain sufficient balance in the accounts so as to avoid such charges and consequent return of cheques on account of lien marking in the accounts. The said procedure of lien marking is made with retrospective period from 1.1.2010.

I have 13960 as balance and 23000 as lien ammount in sbi what does this mean and by what time return back lien ammount my account

In account, showing lien amount rs. 11000.00 and the actual balance deducted and showing rs. 0. The pension amount deposited in account automatically deducted and again showing balance rs. 0.00. Pls let me know how to get back the amount from lien amount? My email is orion.[protected]@gmail.com

When customer gives required documents to the bank, then why should bank need lien amount.

I tried to withdraw rs 1200 using ATM and transaction were keep on failing and later after 1 hour received SMS’s saying Thank you for withdrawal and now i have Rs 3600 as lien amount marked on Hold ??? Visited branch and Bank Manager asked write an application which i did and found next day again one message came and now lien amount is 7200
