I had booked a trip to srinagar from kolkata or 1st may 2020 through easemytrip.com.
Due to lockdown in india, trip could not happen and i was told by easemytrip to directly contact Indigo airlines.
I contacted Indigo in April 2020 before the trip date and they refunded the entire amount of Rs.25342 as credit shell with a validity of one year.
Recently, on 16th october when I contacted Indigo for a query, I got to know that easemytrip made a full refund request to Indigo for this PNR and entire amount was refunded to easemytrip on 7th July 2020.
I checked with my bank and no money was credited till 16th october by easemytrip. I was told to contact easemytrip as to why my amount is not credited.
When i contacted easemytrip customer care, they informed me that the amount is with them and in order to receive my own money i need to cancel the PNR trip from easemytrip site and then only i can get my money.
I did not receive any information/communication from easemytrip regarding these steps and they were keeping my money with them for these 3 months without my consent.
This is Fraud. I am sure there are many customers whose money is with with easemytrip and they are not even aware of it as they are thinking that their money is with airlines as credit shell.
Why was i not informed that they had requested airlines for my refund and kept it with them for so long? why was i not informed that they have received my refund from airlines and that i need to cancel the PNR in order to receive it in my bank.
How many customer's money are they holding who have not yet requested their money?
This is serious. Easemytrip is earning revenue by keeping refunds with them and only releasing after people are requesting it. If i didn't call indigo today regarding credit shell, easemytrip would have kept quiet.

I did not get any communication from you on this until i contacted myself. I was then told that i need to cancel the trip ON YOUR SITE in order to claim my money. You kept the money with you without even notifying me.
Now, you are giving excuses that it failed at bank side. Then why there was no intimation made to me that there was even an attempt made by you.
Mind you I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED THE AMOUNT and ITS BEEN MORE THAN 7 BANK WORKING DAYS.
First, you kept the amount with you without informing me. Now, when i asked for a refund also i have not received. How many days more you want me to follow up with you?
What other excuses you have? My bank has denied any failure at their side because it is NOT POSSIBLE that a credit will be DENIED.
So, please stop giving excuses and REFUND my amount ASAP. This is not a small amount, its Rs.25342.
I don't want to follow up more on this. If action is not taken, i will have to put it out on twitter and tag ministry of aviation.
