[Resolved] Indigo Airlines — near death experience on jaipur - kolkata indigo flight 6e-237

Had a horrible experience aboard indigo airline while flying from jaipur to kolkata last week. I was on-board indigo 6e-237 and half-an-hour before landing in kolkata smoke started filling the cabin. This smoke was coming from ac vents and everyone aboard the flight was terrified as this drama unfolded mid-air ruling out any possibility to land any time soon. Everyone was afraid whether the flight would or wouldn't land. It almost felt as if we were sitting in the middle of a pyre of burning plastic and metal. That smoke was so horrible that babies started crying and passengers started murmuring and started throwing nervous glances at each other. Panic was written all over everyone’s face. As the flight landed, i asked a flight attendant to help me get out of the flight but it seems that the crew on board froze. I beg to question the safety regulations followed by indigo and its crew members. With each moment that passed, everyone grew more and more afraid as smoke completely engulfed the cabin. With little help or information coming from the crew, everyone expected the worse. I swear i will think twice before taking an indigo flight and will also urge everyone to reconsider indigo. While it can be written off as a stray incident, the reality is that their aircraft have encountered issues in the recent past.

IndiGo Customer Care's response Hi Parul,

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Flight 6E-237 Jaipur-Kolkata made an emergency landing as a precaution at Kolkata due to suspected smoke in the cabin. The flight landed safely at Kolkata. Please know there was no earlier report of malfunction with the aircraft. Be assured, passengers safety is of paramount importance to us and we can't depart without clearance. While we understand this may have caused inconvenience to you, rest assured safety is number one priority at IndiGo. We appreciate your kind understanding.

All texts which do not show the attached documents related to travel have to be considered by nobody,
as such texts are gossips, not the complaint.

1. You need to have and to show:
- your full name, address, e-mail
- date of travel / airports taken from attached your e-ticket or your reservation
- your bag tag, if the omplaint related to loss/damaged baggage

2. Explain, how your experssions
"evryone (unidentified people) was afraid"
"baby started crying "
affected your right to travel?

3. "Smoke" inside cabin can not be seen by you, as no air incident of Indigo Airlines with fatalities is registered in India during December 2018.

4. The flight attendant must not need to help the passenger after the flight is over with exeption:
- to show the exit
and
- to remind to take your belonging with you away from cabin.

You did not show in your text, what exact safety regulated have been breached during the unidentified flight 6E-237

You can bring a civil case in a local court, if you feel that your right have been affected seriuosly.

Your expected expences for legal case can be:
- government fees start from 2500 ruppes, if in India, depenfing upon the court
- legal fees for assistance of a lawyer or of legal professional start
a) from !~10000 rupees + own efforts on the collection of the documents
or
b) from 20000 rupees if you wish to sit and talk to the lawyer over phone only.
