May I submit the following for your perusal and intervention.
For long We have been enjoying dual TV dish service from Tata Play. Recently, one set top box developed problems which was reported through helpline number. A technician (Mr. Kunal) from local service center was accordingly deputed who advised replacement of the SD box by HD box as the same was not available any more. This was agreed to as the other TV has also a HD box satisfactorily operating. The assistant of the technician brought out a HD set top box to put in place.
The technician suddenly told that in about a month or so, HD box is also being withdrawn by Tata Play and Binge will replace all. He advised to use Binge right now which is given on a trial basis till 30 June, 22 and can be replaced, if desired by me. He asked for my user id and password which I gave him.
After successful installation, the technician left advising me to contact service center in case of any problem.
Right from start we have been facing problems with this box and the remote as it is found very user unfriendly. None of my family members enjoyed handling the remote.
Accordingly, I raised a request for a replacement of Binge by HD box which was recorded and I was told to wait till the trial period i.e 30th June, 22.
To my surprise, I was sent messages falsely stating that I have requested for Tata Play Binge to be added.
On 1st July, I got a message that Binge has been added to my account. This happened in spite of my four requests ( which every next time your helpline executives deny) to replace Binge by HD.
On 02 July I received a call from Tata Play that Binge will continue till 30 July, 22. When I reminded the caller that it was to be replaced on 30 July, I was very rudely and blatantly told that it cannot be replaced by HD as there is no provision. Binge will be discontinued only after 30th July, 22. This came to me as a shock not only because of the substance of the talk but more by the attitude of the caller.
I was a trusted customer of Tata Play and vice versa but the recent incident jolted my faith. I and my wife are very senior citizens and we can not take it any more. Your local service center senior associate also could not help in that matter.
I therefore humbly request you to look into the matter seriously and take appropriate action to remove Binge+.
