I used to live in Pune for couple of years and there after some local internet service providers (ISP), I switched to Tikona. When I got relocated to the other place, I had tried calling multiple times to cancel my connection as I won't be needing it anymore. But none of them responded and no one called me back. After trying this for couple of weeks, I finally had to put up an EMAIL that, "kindly cancel my connection as I am relocating". Even then, there was no response.
After 1-1.5 month, I got a call from a customer service asking to pay my "renewal dues". And to him I told him that "I tried reaching you (customer service people) to cancel but none of you responded and even mailed you all but there was not even a single response". He then tried to pursue my for 20 minutes straight to resume my connection to my relocated place. I was telling him that I won't be needing your services anymore, so please do not pressurize. He had given up and disconnected the call.
After a month, a guy called me to take the "device" back, so I told him to reach the address that was there and collect it himself. He called me again for the address and told him, and that's that.
Now (November 2022), out of nowhere, I get this call from so-called Advocate Meenakshi Tiwari saying that Tikona has filed a complaint against me and there shall be a hearing in chamber number 6 at Delhi Court. And she pressurized me that I have to come for the "hearing" tomorrow. Then she told me that, I have "an option" of settling this out of court by paying ₹3620, of which ₹1500 will be refundable (don't ask me why!). And this "fine" should be paid directly on the Tikona website within next 5-10 minutes or else the case will be taken forward for "hearing".
She went on to say that after 5 minutes a constable shall call back to me regarding my stand whether I have to "settle" out of court or come for the hearing for the fine of ₹30, 000.
These people are not advocates but recovery agents who are trying to extort money by pressuring the customers to pay fine within couple of minutes.
Tikona is using such an unethical and illicit means to force, corner, and extort money from their former customers.
This needs to be stopped! There are hundred such examples where people raised concerns over this extortion by putting under high-pressure.
People that I got the call from were 'Adv Meenakshi Tiwari' (+91 [protected]) and 'Adv Pooja Mishra' (+91 [protected]).
Will be posting the same on social media as well for larger audience.
