The undersigned is a senior citizen and is an account holder with Bank of India, Borivali West Branch having a savings account and PPF account. My spouse also have FDs with the branch. I have visited the branch thrice in the past one week to register online PPF A/c link. Since there was an issue and the online PPF was not getting activated, the reasons for which the branch officials are unable to tell me, I have now deposited by way of a cheque for contribution to my PPF. Today also I went to update the PPF passbook. I was given to understand that the systems are down. I have been listening to this same reply for the past more than one week a similar response from the bank official i.e. systems are down, which appears to be ridiculous. Every time I visit the branch, I have to spend around Rs.75 to Rs.90 by rickshaw and being a senior citizen, it is still a risky proposition with the COVID still around. The response to senior citizens in the branch is pathetic. Further, no one in the branch is able to guide me w.r.t. registration of online PPF account. Request some one to look into the issue and advise me.
