Store – Croma, Juhu
What did I buy?
1 LG LCD
Lexus Geysers
Racold Geysers
1 LG Microwave
1 Aqua sure water purifier
1 Haier Refrigerator
Problem -
Every product has a problem
1. LG LCD –
a. The TV remote does not work.
b. The LG guys who came from installation say that Croma has to give you a new remote
2. LG Microwave –
a. The model booklet given was of some other model.
b. The LG guys who came from installation say that Croma has to give you a the right model booklet and hence no demo is possible
c. Result – The microwave is lying and is of practically no use
3. Racold Geyser
a. More than 15 days since we have purchased and Not yet delivered
4. Lexus geyser
a. Since one geyser is not yet delivered, we cannot call the technician to install this one or else we will have to pay twice for his visit
b. Result – The geyser is lying and is of no use
5. Aqua sure water purifier – the only thing installed and working (thankfully no problem)
6. Haier Refrigerator –
a. No one till date has come for installation
b. The last water bottle bracket on the door falls off every time we place any bottle
c. The light inside the fridge is restricted to the freezer and chiller only; does not fall on the whole body.
d. We would have never ever bought this brand but thanks to your brand Croma which says “WE HELP YOU BUY” that we trusted and bought
e. Please take it back!
7. Free Gift –
a. As a good gesture, since the purchase was of a decent amount, we were given a gift – which is yet to be deliverd.
Customer Service at Croma, Juhu –
Before purchase –
I matched the prices and offers at Kohinoor/ Vijay Sales and Croma.
Vijay Sales gave me better offers but I went ahead with Croma because it belonged to TATA. I unfortunately, trust this brand (or should I say TRUSTED?)
During purchase –
I must say that the store manager Ajay and his team were pretty forthcoming and helpful. Ajay personally assisted me to purchase the products and matched the offers to Vijay Sales. He and his team were of great help.
Post purchase –
After the problems mentioned above, I called up Ajay thrice but everytime he would say he would call me back and yet has not!
On 22nd Oct –
I called up the landline no of Croma Juhu and Tejaswini said that she has spoken to Amjad and one more senior person (don’t remember the name)
She said that within next 2 working days, everything will be sorted
On 29th Oct –
I tried calling Amjad ([protected]) but he did not answer his calls. I had even left a msg with him stating but he has not called back either.
And so now - Nothing has changed till date!
RESULT -
Your brand “TATA” – because of which I made purchases has left me feel disappointed.
I feel cheated. My goods delivered are defective and some are not delivered!
Please don’t force me to move to consumer court for this. It’s a simple and plain case of cheating. Am so proud of the brand TATA that this is not even one of the last things that I would have thought of! I have gone through trauma after hand picking things and following up so much. Feel let down badly!

I called last night, before arriving at the store...I had seen a Yamaha RXV 459 at the Delhi store during my visit there, and enquired about its availability in Pune(since I live in Pune). The Store checked up the stock and told me I could visit at Pune and pick up the piece. Last night when I called a lady(Ashwini) informed me that the piece was indeed available and would be handed to me at a list price of INR 7990/-. I booked it in my name and told them I would pick it up personally in the afternoon.
I made it all the way to the store only to be harrassed by the store employees - someone named Mahesh Kapanchi(or something like that), and the store supervisor Imran.
First they told me there was NOTHING like RXV 459 available. Then they took almost 10 minutes checking their console for the availability when the piece was lying right in front of them!!
When I told them my friends in Delhi had bought the piece at Croma, and had recommended I pick it up for myself as well, these gentlemen conjured up a combination of the RXV and added a lot of junk speakers(I dont remember which brand) and offered me a 'package' worth INR 30, 000, when the RXV was just INR 7990!! i told them I only bought Yamaha speakers and I already had them, so won't be interested in the 'package' - to which Imran told me that they would not be looking to sell the RXV singly, unless I bought the other add-ons...incidentally the add-ons are not even part of the box pack - its just something that the Croma people are trying to palm off to you to increase their flagging sales.
These gents even went to the extent of telling me that if Croma Delhi was offering the piece singly - I was most welcome to go there and pick it up!!!
On visiting the Croma website one is treated to the CEO's message which says:

Quite an example, i must say, that the store boys are bringing the CEO's message alive in truest form. Anyway I went to a couple of blogs and found that this kind of treatment is meted out with utmost regularity to many customers across the country with breathtaking consistency.
I am copying this mail to some Tata senior execs in the hope that this catches light. I am also copying it to NDTV. I hope this incident catches light and Tata management shapes up this slum-hole before their pathetic customer service drives them to bankruptcy, just like some other Big Corporate houses I know about :)
