[Resolved]  Hotels. Com — misguided about extra charges

Intending to visit Madhya Pradesh, I was trying to book acommodation online but could not succeed I called one Mr Kuldeep Singh of Hotels.com on 22.1.11 on tel no[protected] & enquired whether they charge any commission for booking the hotels He told they offer the service absolutely free Afterwards I gave all the details of hotel booking in Indore (3nights for 2 guests) & Bhopal (1 night for 2 guests ) to Mr Robin on the same tel no Before booking he informed me that the tariff is Rs 2000/- & Rs 1,340/- p day resp He booked the hotels through expedia.com & told me total amount of Rs7,351/- & Rs1,616/ resp On enquiring about the extra charges of Rs1,351/- & 276/-, he told me that the rooms were meant for single occupancy and extra amount is charged for the 2nd guest However, on visiting the hotels at Indore & Bhopal, I found that the rooms were meant for double occupancy & there was no such extra charge for extra guest They made me sign the tariff bill @Rs2000/- & Rs1,340/- per day only They have denied giving me the bill for the room tariff on the pretext that I have got the booking done through web site
I feel I have been misguided about the comission charges for online booking as extra guest charges of the hotels which is unfair trade practice on the part of Hotels.com Had they disclosed the fact that they are charging extra comission for onlinne booking, I wouldn't have opted to book it online Secondly, the hotels viz Hotel Omni Palace at Indore & Hotel Sonali Regency have denied me the bill for room tariff
Please guide me in the matter

Hotels.com — MISLEADING WHILE BOOKING THE HOTEL ONLINE IN MANALI BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVE (MR. KANU)

This is 1st time I had done online booking on the good faith of Hotels.com and your representative Mr. Kanu, but Mr. Kanu has totally misguided me regarding the booking. Mr. Kanu has booked a hotel The Corporate Orchid Park, in Manali. After asking several times to Mr. Kanu that this hotel is in the main Manali, he told yes, but this hotel is 25-30 km away from the Manali and not even on the main Manali Highway this guy has totally spoil our vacations. For going to Hotel to Manali I have to go 30 kms up and down every other day that means I have spent extra money on 120 kms for petrol. On the way I spoke to your floor supervisor (Mr. Hitesh Sood) on 20-June-2010 regarding the issue, he told me that he will reply to my queries after consulting Mr. Kanu within 48 hrs, no reply call has been received till date (06-July-2010) I hope it is more than 48 hrs and what this kind of service you are providing to your customer. Than again next day (21-June-2010) I spoke to your representative Ms. Lisa regarding the issue, she also give the confirmation that she will discuss the matter with senior administration and reply, but no revert has been received either from Mr. Hitesh Sood and Ms. Lisa or from your organization. This is a very bad experience for me and my family, I need the clarification from your side or otherwise I will issue a Legal Notice and write a letter in the newspaper against your representative (Mr. Kanu for misguiding me), your floor supervisor (Mr. Hitesh Sood and Ms. Lisa for not responding to my queries). Kindly clear all my queries as mentioned below:-


1.Why your representative Mr. Kanu has misguided me?
2.If he is not confirmed about the location than why he has done the booking.
3.He has told me that this is a deluxe room with air conditioner, no air conditioner was there and for watching a TV I have to pay Rs.50/- extra per day, do you think for a deluxe room the customer has not to pay extra for watching a TV.
4.Room charges were very high as per the condition of room.
5.Who will pay the compensation
6.The actual tariff of the room was not more than Rs. 1000/-
7.Why your representative has not provided me the contact no. of hotel before booking or before making the full payment.
8.Mr. Kanu has told that first you have to pay the full payment only then you will get the full information on your mail about your booking (hotel name, contact no. and address). A good organization will never misguide the customer.

I hope I will get the answer to my queries as early as possible.

In future I will never book a hotel through hotel.com and also guide your customers never book a hotel through hotel.com, a very very bad experience.

I too had extra charges that I had not anticipated on a recent (June 3rd thru the 7th) 2011 at a hotel in Washington D.C. I was quoted 63 per nite and when I got my charges on my credit card it was $91.00/ nite. Now that I hear of this problem I will pursue this overage and will reconsider using Hotels.com again and will do my best to spread the negative word. John in Denver

I HAVE ONLINE HOTEL BOOKING. BOOKING IS FAILD 2 TIMES. N MY 2 TIMES PAYMENT IS CUT AMOUNT IS 37171*2=74342. DATE IS 4/5 MAY. I DIDNT PAYMET BACK. SO 1 MONTHS GO NOW PAYMENT NOT RECEVIED. SO PLZ AS SOON AS POSSIBLE....
