[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Not able to avail the holiday voucher package promised by them

ITBC is a complete fruad.

Among the first lot guys to get cheated. Paid Rs 700 online (based on India Today's reputation) in Q1'08 and never got the committed books and gift. After chasing, they sent a VPP parcel and asked for another Rs 735 to take delivery.

On top of it, my name, mail-id and mobile number has been sold to a fraudlent, Delhi based company Pannalinks; which keeps on sending unsolicited SMSes and emails.

It shameful and balatant violation of law they the spams are continuing despite requests through emails. Somehow they 'forgot' to put a "unsubscribe" link on their website and SMS service.

Cheaters to the core...

Can we not initiate any action against such criminals...

1) JEE Saheb: Starting thing: I am not member of reputed "book club"
2) Going by above cited complaints, I think I prudent not to be one.
3) Imprudence, Jee, was I took part in one of their contests - can't remember which.
4) Fallout out of this is I get big voluminous emails & SMSes that I can do without. Phone memory even getting clogged.
5) I writing everywhere I can - here too- putting forth my woeful complaint: Pl stop SMS. My no registered with DO NOT AT ALL CALL REGISTRY with the BHARAT SARKAR.
6) India Today, I say, Is above all law & just a little thing like DO NOT AT ALL CALL REGISTRY is not going to faze the BURRA Sahebs of the India Today In Nai Dilli.
7) I am starting forum to bring the mighty India today book club to its ghutanay. Please support me.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me ...
I called to their delhi number[protected], she said, they will send the unique number for holiday package, in one week time..
it is been more than 10 days.. I RECEIVED NOTHING FROM THEM.
They have to answer for this...

Even I face the same problem

The unique no. given in invoice is not accepted by their login site.

it is fully cheating with peoples, cumstomers.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me ...

I called to their New-Delhi number[protected], They given this link "offer.indiatodaybookclub.com/holiday" to select the place and register.

But the page is not opening.

Friends if you find the solution to register the holiday package please reply me also.

The CD's they sent was not good and not installing properly in the system. it showing the error when we open the CD.

I paid Rs 574 for an offer which included india today subscripton for 1 year + 3 cds + adidas bag + holiday voucher... of which i received only bag & cds...
I am unable to find some unique number to fill in the form to avail the voucher...
i tried out with all the numbers given in the invoice...
If you really dont have intention to cheat people do reply to this mail...

I, Ravi kumar chugh, subscribed Rs.999 offer for india today book club (Invoice No: ORA[protected], Order no. 0GA[protected], (Order date 18 Jan 2009),
for some CDs, Reebok purse and keychain & one free gift holiday voucher for 3 days 2 nights free stay & meal for a couple.
I am newly married and my main motive to apply this offer is to avail the free holiday voucher for a pleasant honeymoon trip.
I asked atleast 5 times on 5 phonecall before subscribing this offer from India today book club executive --that is this all covered in Rs.999. Will i have to pay more. He or she everytimes replied Yes Sir, its absolutely free and real and you will not be paying anymore for that.
But the real fraud comes when i open the package and read the document inside it that -- free meal is not valid for most of the preferred location of North India like Shimla, Manali, etc.
I somehow managed myself with that but this is not enough.
When i download the holiday voucher, it asks to pay a cheque of Rs.800 to Indiahotelreview.com
I cannot bear this total fraud.
So i didnt pay that --and felt myself cheated.
With Rs.999+800 to pay in total. i can go myself private. Then whats the use of subscribing this offer.
God knows that if anyone else except India today has offered this, i will not subscribe.
Shame on it that such a reputed organisation cheated customer on phone
They say different on phone but the reality is different.
I married on 21st Nov. 2008 and till date i didnt went on my honeymoon just because i have shortage of funds.
I have much much to say and i cant stop myself but still am stoping here.

Hope u can understand my feelings and take proper measure. Atleast i want to get my Rs.999 refund for that. And a huge penalty for this fraud against TOI which should be credited to Indian Govt. a/c

sir, that pack consist 8 free music cd. which played on my computer .but not played on my computer, laptop and my friend computer .that was already blank.and "0 bytes. sir please send properly good cd and sir i am student of software enginerring . sir in this position i am feeling bad from you . becasue you not provide good and proper cd.

I got an offer from india today book club through IRCTC for a Swatch Watch & benetton Watch for Rs. 2150/-, inclusive of Delivery charges.

Amount Paid in Advance : Rs 500/- Order Placed : 16th Feb

Now its almost 2 months i have not recieved my package, it really bad and feel cheated from a Brand like indiatoday

Every time i Call up customer executibes give false promises & excuses, while booking the order it was told the order will be delivered within 18 working days. why do they give offers which they cant fulfill

Advertising is good and acceptable, but in the name of advertising cheating is offensable, why legal action will not be initiated against the club?

India Today Book Club — Blank CD delivered.

I have ordered set of CD of classical music from India Today Book Club. They post me my ordered CDs. In which one CD was blank.
What option I have.

as far as indiabookclub is concerned, they are bloody cheats, they make offers which they they dont give, they just make people fools. I think we should should take this firm to task and file a suit in supreme court, so that such thing never again happens to any other innocent Indians.This people thinks we Indians as fools and can cheat them.I had purchased Cds with offer of addis shoe with the offer in month of june.I had paid them by credit card.I recd only Cds but no shoes, on give compliant, one Mr.Anurag said they will despatch the shoes as their was no stock but i didnt any thing as of know.On sending mail, their mail id is wrongly given or no reply from their side.

so request yourself to kindly guide me to resolve this issue at the earliest.
