I bought a product from international website and Dhl express is a shipping service provider. DHL charged me RS 9, 915/- as IGST, Custom duty etc. and I was told that DHL has paid this charges on behalf of you "without asking me".
Now, I wanted to return the item as it was defected and DHL is denying for refund of taxes.
if I am not purchasing any goods then why I have to pay taxes.

    I had already put up a complain about DHL for not sending my courier from last 30 days or more. They have asked my address proofs so many times and i had also sent it to them so many times. In this complaint im even attaching the screenshot of the mails i had sent to them and the ones they had sent to me. If DHL didn't have my id proofs for verification how at very first they got to know that the shipper had printed a wrong door number on the shipper's invoice. Following that they asked me to provide
    1. A corrected invoice from the shipper.
    2. Clarification letter from my end.
    3. My id proofs again as per corrected invoice.
    In this case when the mistake was from the shipper's end all they had to ask was a corrected invoice from the shipper.
    1. Why did they want a clarification letter from me when the shipper is agreeing there mistake.
    2. Why did they need my id proofs again as per corrected invoice. Will my id proofs change by the time they receive a corrected invoice from the shipper.
    Still following their norms i did send them all the required things they asked and even now i receive a mail from DHL saying they dont have my id proofs so i have to resend it to them again. After one month of this process which was actually not required. I personally feel its a mental torture i have been through. And now after sending my n my husband's id proofs so many times i feel whats the guarantee that our id proofs will not be misused. Why are they asking my proofs again and again when they had them at the very first time. This has become a serious issue to me now.

      I had ordered medicine (RENADYL) from US for my mother's kidney treatment.
      DHL asked me to pay Rs.1408 via online portal, and i did the same (UPI Ref no.[protected]

      Then DHL informed me that they have not yet received the amount and asked me to pay the same amount via cash and promised me that they would refund the amount that i paid online, once it reflects in their system.

      I paid the same amount again via cash and got the parcel.

      The online payment was successful too, and is showing in DHL systems (acknowledged by DHL via mail) from past one month, but they are yet to refund it and are not giving any proper information via mail. attached is the mail chain that has all the details along with payment receipts.

        I had ordered medicine (Renadyl) from us for my mother's kidney treatment.

          I had lost my wallet in london which was later found by the lost property office of london. I had asked them to courier it back to me. Its been more than 30 days i haven't received my courier. Its like mental torture to us. The shipper from london had made a small typing error in our address. Instead of 56 they had by mistake typed 53 for my door number. The error was rectified by the shipper from london. I have submitted my documents to dhl as the address proof more 5-6 times still my courier is not being received and everyday they keep sending me mails for the address proofs. Im so frustrated that i have even asked them to throw my courier in dustbin. Choosing dhl for courier service is the biggest mistake. They just waste time and money of the customers. I have all the screenshots of all the mails sent to them and they say they haven't received any mail from me. Worst experience i have ever faced. Never thought a small courier will become such a big headache in my day to day life. From one month i have facing this. Never recommend dhl to anyone.

            Rl[protected]in this was my earlier mail to germany and had sent it as a registered post. India post managed the mail very well and delivered to address in an acceptable time. Thank you....
            ... El[protected]in this was my second mail to germany and it was an urgent mail. That's the reason i did a speed post on the above reference no. India post managed the mail in such a way, the packet left india on the second day. Unfortunately, the international carrier was dhl. They are really super slow in service and after twelve days it's still pending to deliver if it is so, what is the purpose of speed post. Speed post service is slower than normal service. I paid five times more than the normal charge for this speed but no use. I don't think dhl is a good service provider for international service. I know, india post doesn't have any control over international service once it left india. But you should have a tie-up with a responsible international service provider... Really, horrible service. The first package was a normal mail and it reached the destination in 10 days but the second package took more than 12 days even though it was a speed post. Useless couriers services.

              We had ordered one musical instrument from Sweden(269 euros plus shipping charges 57€ ) . Neither the seller or dhl informed us about the tax that might be collected at India. We got a mail from dhl saying that we have to pay 14095 towards import tax failing which will delay the shipment. We were shocked since the instrument itself costed us 21k. We rang up the dhl customer care. They said we have to pay the sum otherwise the item will be with dhl. Note the company just sends you a link with no other details. We tried to reach the seller and we understand the tax levied in India is very high and we were asked to cross verify with the customs. Now we sent a mail to dhl to send us the split up of taxes. Now a new bill of 11k+ comes with all receipts. ( customs duty + S w surcharge + disbursements fee+ igst of 18% + cgst+sgst). The concerns are how can they send a payment link with some random number to be paid. Why are they not transparent. The customs have charged us 28% igst and dhl reports saying 18% igst) I am sure in this way many would have got cheated in the name of tax. I would like to file a case for causing the mental agony. We are still following up with the customer care but the guy who answered has gone on leave and have removed the cc’ed team mail id and replied that wait until August 12th 5pm. WOW

                My name is Nirmmala I have a parcel to come thru DHL parcel [protected]
                They SMS me to upload proof. I had given my mother mangala & my name in receiver name.

                I uploaded my Nirmmala adhar they rejected saying mangala is the consignee so I uploaded her adhar they rejected it saying adress mismatch. So I uploaded builders possession letter. To utter shock they rejected that letter as address proof!!

                Deliberately they r mentally harassing me. In the first place Nirmmala yadav is in receiver tittle so they should hv accepted my adhar as proof n done. But no they r harassing us for nonsense rules.
                I explained that our place is under redevelopment and we r staying in same area since 1972 but still they rejected builder letter which clearly mentioned correct address. Why??? Despite Nirmmala yadav being mentioned in receiver tittle they rejected her adhar card?? Whyyy???

                Pls help me is there any lawyers guild that fights consumers harassed like this?

                My document can prove its all valid & these people r deliberately harassing us under name of rules.

                Pls see attached it shows two names in consignee tittles.
                DHL is harassing us without reason.

                DHL is rejecting valid proof and harassing me. After redevelopment builder gave us possession letter. These people are asking 2019 document???? what nonsense is this..?

                  DHL AWB [protected] has been delivered to wrong address.
                  dispatched the following consignment in wrong address.
                  It should be delivered to PMI, Neuchâtel, Switzerland. But delivery guy delivered it at Printing & Converting in Geneva.
                  How delivery guy hands over consignment without verifying telephone number? Your guys don't accept consignment without pin code, telephone No. Are these just for show?
                  These are not acceptable from company like DHL.
                  Our customer is asking us to send some more samples. That must be shipped on Free of Cost basis.
                  Pls inform how to ship the consignment?

                  Hello Team my shipment left germany 10-15 days ago and the current status as per my vendor says its in India customs due for clearance but from last 1 week its the same status. We are unable to track the same. I can share the screen shot where it shows the shipment is in Bangalore customs clearance.

                      I purchased an item total cif value for inr 2600, they are trying to charge my custom duty of inr 1875 which is 72% of the cif value, when the custom duty is of 28% i. E. Inr 768. When shipping has already been prepaid by the seller included in the item.

                      They are bunch of thieves, always only buy from websites with pre paid duty. As they charge actual duty. Not thieving, cheating, scamming people. Never ask local company to do it. 100% frauds, be careful.

                        I have ordered a Camera from Aliexpress site China
                        and they have shipped the package via DHL and arrived in India won the next day itself, then after some days got a call from DHL for KYC docs and details and i had submitted it on the same day and its been almost a month and still its shows clearance event going on, between that they have called for some other documents like transaction details and all, I have submitted all docs both Hard and soft copies, even to Customs officer in Bengaluru.
                        These DHL frauds are playing with customers didn't give any value for customer services. Its the worst courier service ever, if there is this a lot of problems then why didn't they mention before shipping? not sure if they ask for extra money for clearance because already paid enough amount for shipping,
                        everyone beware of these Frauds

                          We have completed all the formalities which are required for the customs clearance and even my iec is linked up with the gstn portal & icegate from the 26th june and clearance department inform me they require 48 hours from now, and after 3 days we have on the phone conversation one dhl person said that it was lost and due to it, it was delayed, moreover after the 4days today they still ask to need 2 to 3 days more for clear customs. This is really unacceptable from such a reputed company. So kindly do custom clearance as early as possible. Our local customers are very annoyed on us as there is shipment delayed.

                          Apart from that about my previous shipment (Waybill no. [protected])
                          I had imported good from china from the same place which i got a shipment at 22nd may, for that shipment i give me all documents (Gstn certificate, iec certificate, pan details and latter of authentication) to dhl, for the clear customs with my gst number, so i can take a refund of my paid duty amount which was 3102/- inr from the gst department. But at that time dhl was clear the customs with my pancard details without informing me, that we are clearing customs by pan card, and that information got recently from one of your customs representatives.
                          So due to that i can't get a refund with the amount of 3102/- inr from the gst and have to pay more text, which ultimately i have to lose such amount. Which i need compensation from yours.

                          Plese look into it for current shipment (Waybill no. [protected]) and update me for the same.

                            DHL INDIA website is a fraud/misleading. Prior to filling out the shipment pick up and delivery information, the method of payment was made a mandatory choice of CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. Even after selecting that option my credit card payments didn't go through and shipment arrangements failed. It took more than 30 minutes to finalize the shipment details and then payment did not go through with an error that credit card payment option only accept amount no more than rupees 2.00, which is ridiculous, isn't it?
                            I contacted customer care and the person did not know anything about online arrangements. The whole process killed my one hour which is not fair. I would not sue them but let them know that improvements are needed.

                              I had purchased a clothing item of value 116usd from US which is around 8250 INR. DHL has just sent me a message asking for a customs duty or 5824 INR which is around 70% of the value of the item. I've faced this issue only with DHL. What can I do now?
                              This is not the first time this is happening.. but atleast the last time it was in the range of 20-30%. But 70 % is ridiculous. Is this a nexus between the customs an d DHL to loot individual customers. and when i called the customer care, i was told this happens a lot in case of individual customers.

                                I had couriered a parcel containing confidential documents to australia which got swapped with another parcel destined for dubai. My parcel reached dubai to the wrong recipient. Dhl, who is apparently known to provide good courier service, did not just go wrong with the address but delivered to the wrong country itself. It’s a shame that they charge a good inr 1900 for a parcel weighing not more than 200 gms with such bad service. I need a compensation for the same and want the parcel to be delivered within the next 2 days.

                                  The watch bearing the item n° cl[protected]de, has got stuck in customs in mumbai 3 days back on 8th april 2019 and currently it shows that it has reached bangalore but its stuck for unspecified reasons and i am not sure how to get it cleared. Its a simple quartz movement type watch which i bought from company's indian online store. The company name is slow which is a startup company.
