We were drawn by your advertisement of simplicity and sincerity but what we received was a very sad reception. It is with our hard-earned money we go to buy this precious asset.
We had been to Thane shop to buy gold bangles. We showed them and after calculation and checking of gold an estimate was quoted. Considering the figure, we selected two bangles 21.1 grams approximate. Our gold pieces had approximately weighed around 30 grams of gold. Estimate was derived after due checks and keen observation by your goldsmith.
We were told to hold back for the billing process. We were in your shop for over 3 and half hours (6.00 to 9.30 pm). After every assessment was over mentioning that around 14 grams gold was below purity norms. By that time the ornaments were blackened, dephased and it was made into pieces.
When seeing the items we were shell shocked. Top of it your salesman mentioned that to buy the other bangle we had to pay additional Rs 28, 000 and to take back the ornaments tested below par purity ornaments. We requested to polish it so that we could sell the ornament at some other jewelry shop. But again we were told that you could do nothing. On top of it as if adding insult one of your representatives remarked that the purity not being as per standard he would not like to pay from his pocket. After hearing was so annoyed and felt that why did I take a decision to come to your so called reputed jewellery house?
We did not know what course of action to be taken as we did not want to make a scene in front of your customers. We very reluctantly told him to invoice for one bangleand as there was no policy of refund they gave us a credit note
In this panic situation we ran to our known jewellery shop around 9:30 pm and told him the background of the ornaments. Because of our long standing relationship he made us an offer of Rupees 27, 500/- and we could purchase one 8.5 grams bangle and a silver biscuit for which bill can be produced.
We wanted to exchange the ornaments but it was a horrifying experience .Suppose the jewellery which was defazed and going by your reps words that no other jeweler would take it, understand the then feeling we underwent how can a reputed Company like yours not understand the importance of quoting before the worthiness is derived. You can’t destroy after the deal is done on the exchange . Goodwill of your Company will be at stake. Now suggest how do you rectify this case. Was this information helpful? |
