[Resolved]  Oyo Rooms — Denied the promised service and not providing refund

Date September 20th around 10 PM:-

I was looking to book a room for my employees for their business visit, I came to know about this hotel "SilverKey Executive Stays 20018 D Square OMR" on the OYO website. On the website, it was mentioned the Check-In time was 12PM. We needed an early check-in between 7 AM - 8 AM, I called OYO customer care (+[protected] for an inquiry, I asked whether early check-in is possible for the above-mentioned place. The Person told me he has contacted the hotel and rooms are available and I can check-in early between 7 AM - 8 AM. I confirmed early check-in multiple times during the conversation. The person on call told me that early check-in has been confirmed from the hotel side, and he asked whether he can book it for me. He booked the room, I got a payment link from Paytm in SMS and I made the payment.

Date September 21st around 8AM:

Our employees reached the hotel, the hotel denied the early check-in stating the room was full and they were not informed about early check-in. When I enquired OYO customer care the previous day for booking, the customer care executive told me that he has informed the hotel and also the rooms are available. But on visiting, the hotel denied early check-in. We have a business meeting at 10 AM. Our employees requested to provide a place at least for refreshment, so that they can ready for the business meeting and check-in later. But the hotel denied it and told that all rooms were full, told to wait till 10 AM. The conversation between ourselves and the hotel took around 30-45min. Since we didn't have enough time to get ready for the meeting, our employees took the help of some people around that area and got ready for the business meeting. Around 9:20 AM I called OYO customer care, stating the problem we faced and I asked for a cancellation with a refund, the customer care person told me to cancel and informed me that I'll get the refund.

I opened the OYO website and canceled my booking. After 10mins I am getting an email from OYO with an invoice stating that my full amount has been taken as a cancellation charge. I called OYO customer care again, they reply me that I should have canceled the room before 9 AM, on canceling after 9 AM, I need to pay the full amount as a cancellation charge. I contacted customer care at 9:20 AM and they told me to cancel to get the refund, how come I can cancel before 9 AM. I even asked whether we can stay at the hotel tonight since the amount was not refundable. They denied that too and told me to make a new booking.

To Summarize,
1. Upon confirmation from OYO customer care for early check-in, I made the payment. Customer care executives on OYO are giving false promises and information just to create a booking.
2. Customer Care Agents are not well informed about the policies. (On calling after 9 AM, One customer care executive tells to cancel the booking to get a refund. After cancellation, the other customer care executive tells no refunds will be made if cancellation is made after 9 AM)

I didn't receive any service, I ended up losing my booking amount of Rs.1571.
Without providing any service, just by misguiding customers, OYO is looting so much money. OYO is a Scam.
