We had planned a holiday in Manali along with our entire family (14 Pax) of 6 Senior Citizens, 4 Adults and 4 children in Manali from 23rd May to 25th May. We did booking for same on 5th Feb with full payment vide Booking ID : ETPL8571 & XGKQ8416 for Manali Mountain Regency(Oyo Rooms 151) which was on National Highway just 1 Km from Mall Road. On 20th April we recd a call from OYO Rooms that due to adverse comments of customers they are discontinuing the Hotel and we would have to go in for another property which we very reluctantly did and chose Hotel Angel's Inn(OYO Rooms 008) which was on Naggar Road and about 3 Kms away from City Center but since there were no other good properties left by that time so we had to go for same.
We kept on receiving SMS & mails from OYO Rooms that our Rooms were Confirmed and would be available on Arrival but still on 19th May evening we called up Hotel and checked with Ms Anju ([protected]) about our Booking and she checked system and confirmed that 6 Rooms were booked.
On 23rd May when we reached the Hotel at about 13:30 hrs to our horror we were told by Hotel staff that they did not have any confirmation from OYO Rooms and therefore there were no Rooms available in that Hotel for period of our stay. We along with 14 family members were totally aghast and stranded and therefore called up OYO Rooms and they kept on insisting that our Reservation was Confirmed and that we would be provided Rooms but the Hotel staff totally refused.
OYO Captain Mr. Vipul Gupta was sent to our aid and he also spoke with Hotel staff but to no avail then Mr. Gupta offered us another property Six Seasons Regency (OYO ROOMS 064) this property was good but further away from city center and at a distance of about 5 Kms from city. We were told that we would have to take this property else complete refund would be made to us. We had no choice but to accept the property as we would have not got 6 Rooms accommodation at such a short notice within our budget.
On reaching and checking in at Six Seasons at about 16:30 hrs we were informed by OYO Captain that we would have to again shift to another property next day as 6 Rooms were not available for 24th May in same Hotel. We were offered 3 Rooms in another property of same management & 3 Rooms were allowed to be retained. This way our entire family got split and most of our leisure time was wasted in repeatedly shifting our luggage. We were even not able to take out family members out of hotel till noon due to which complete plan got upset and our trip was ruined.
We had extended our stay at Manali through a separate booking vide WMHS6104 from 25th May to 26th May in Hotel Snow Princess (OYO Rooms and when we checked in our Rooms they were totally below standard. the wash basin in Room No 210 was cracked the Toilet seat cover was broken in Room No 206 and in all the property had all old and worn out fittings and appliances. The mattresses were also without proper cushioning.
In all our complete holiday of Manali which we had planned 4 months in advance with complete payments was ruined by OYO ROOMS and all they could offer was refund of our amount which had been paid 4 months ago.
It was a terrible experience for entire family and we hope no one ever experiences such a terrible service on their hard earned holidays.
