I had made a booking for april 12th in an oyo room (Rated 4.3) in bhubaneshwar, booking id ipzf3017. On arriving there i saw that the place was very unhygenic, and did not seem safe, having no security provisions, and even had one drunk service person. The person who seemed to be managing the place told me to request oyo to change my hotel as i had told him the room was not clean. He was afraid that i would give him a bad rating. I couldn't cancel the booking as i had already paid online.
On calling oyo customer service at around 8pm, i was assured by the person that he will look for an alternative accommodation, and asked me to hold. The call was cut by the customer service after 20 minutes. Again i called the customer service, this time a woman answered. I told her specifically that the oyo customer service had cut my previous call, and also that it was getting late, and to please speeden up the process. She assured me that my issue would be resolved immediately and said she is transferring my call. I waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes, with no avail. I am attaching the call records from my phone to the customer service.
Why i choose to book through oyo, is because i expected a minimum amount of safety and hygiene, which was not there. Nor was a decent or efficient customer service. Further when travelling as a single woman, it becomes even more difficult to find a safe place to stay. As an aggrieved consumer i appeal to this forum to address the harrowing experience i had, by not only providing me with a sufficient explanation and compensation but also making oyo a safer place by doing security checks on the places it has.
