This is about a recent refund that is due to me for booking that was cancelled: Booking / Cancellation date: 5th October 2023. Customer email id: srikanth.[protected]@gmail.com
Urban Company had said they had issued a refund for the cancellation of services on 5th October 2023 and asked me to wait for 5-7 working days. When I approached your support team after said time. After numerous delays, Liz Pahuja of their support team gave me a transaction ID to approach my bank and ask for a status update. (This was on 12th of October)
My bank then asked for an email confirmation of the refund along with the associated reference number as a requirement for their records and auditing purposes.
Since then, there was no reference number provided. Along the while there was chat being shut on my face by one miss 'Simran Bhatia' of the support team. All the while giving me automated robotic replies without giving any proper responses. (All this happened between 13th to 18th October)
Recently, on 18th October when I raised this issue on Facebook, Another gentleman, Raghav Sharma from the UC social media cell. Approached me and told me that they would initiate a manual refund through NEFT and took my banking details. According to him and Madira Sen, another support team member, the so-called manual refund was initiated on 18th evening itself!
But today! A further twist in the tale would ensure, The FB handle says, 'Refund was initiated on Oct 19 2023, 11:04 am and it will take 5 to 7 business days (excluding weekends & bank holidays)'!
Now correct me if I am wrong, Fund settlement time for NEFT transactions is done in half-hourly batches! And this service is available 24*7, 365 days, so where is the question of "5 to 7 business days (excluding weekends & bank holidays)"?
The situation has become increasingly concerning. This prolonged process and the delay in obtaining the necessary information have raised significant doubts. UC inability to provide a proper reference number in the first place and thereafter dodging it by offering it by saying they are doing a NEFT, seems fishy!
More so by the fact that they do not have any proper customer contact centre or even an email address to address consumer complaints. Everything seems shady in this organisation here.
