[Resolved]  WORLD SPACE INDIA PVT. LTD. — CHEATING - RENEWAL OF SUBSCRIPTION

I booked a worldspace set including 1 year subscription on 18th dec 2009. I also paid subscription for 1 year for another connection. I am at a loss of around 6500. I called them on 24th dec. They told that I will get the set within five days. The next day I come to know that they are closing. They are really fraud man. I immediately called the credit card company. They said that the money has already been claimed. Is there no way we can punish these rogues. We should do something.

World Space India Pvt Ltd. — Paid for one year and the broad casting went off

On 06. 07. 09 I paid 2000Rs. up to 05. 07. 2010 for satellite radio service. On 31st. of December 2009 the signal was cut off and no information was given. No one answers the phone. It is a clear singe of cheating.

It is a big fraud on music lovers of this country. Neither, they have cared to send a mail nor responds to a call on their helpline number. The Ministry of Broadcasting should intervene and do the justice. The worldspace would have not dared to do in the same callous way, either in U.S. or Europe. Every tom, dick and Harry gets scot free in India!!!
Is there any Indian co, which can use the vast music library of worldspace and start for genuine music lovers of India?? why to depend on the Foregin broadcasters?

I agree with the views, I feel agitated too. I have paid a subsciption for 26 months running upto May 2011, apart from the cost of the unit. I will support if someone takes this up and joins in the class action suit against the company in the US.

It looks like a planned fraud by the Company. How can the Company insist for renewal of the subscription so close to the date of shutting down. Don't they know that they are closing their service?

I do not understand how can the Indian entity disown its responsibility to the customers and ask us to take up our claim with its US entity when the amount for the subscription was collected by the Indian entity. We had never entered into any agreement with the US entity and why should we claim the refund (if at all there is any) in US. We all know that nearly 20 odd channels are regional What did the Indian entity do with the amount of subscription collected.

The Department of Company Affairs along with SFIO should take up this fraud and investigate in the interest of 4.5 lacs customers. They should debar the Directors of the Company and take action against them. The Department of Broadcasting should take this as a case and investigate.

I have two connections and have paid for the renewal upto 2012 and 2011.

We need to take this up as a group and fight it out and should not leave it.

Hope some other Indian entity take this and provide the service.

Same thing happend to me also. I renewed for a further period of 2 yrs. in the month of June 2009. And 0n[protected] in a news paper (Times of India) I saw the new of the bankruptcy of the company(World Space Inc., USA). In fac later I came to know the company applied for the bankruptcy in October, 2008. So it is really a cheating. After knowing the financial facts none of the personnel on behalf of World Space India Pvt. Ltd. informed us about the truth. Hence they befooled us by renewing the subscription.

money should be refunded possitively..let the organisation keep up the prestige by returning the money to us

They have deceived finally. What to do with the receiver ? Companies of Reliance having good communication net work and sound financial background should make a tie-up with the company. Only one FTA channel is available. Its really disappointing. Any one can suggest how can this put into use by using alternate antennae systems. . Thanks.

I am also with you. I was favouring Worldspace to my Gym clients in comperasion of FM and they have proved us wrong.

It seems that the money collected has got liquified at the "Top Heavy" in the form of salaries and next in the form of subsidising for the receivers. I don't know who is masterminding the whole show but one thing is sure, he did lack insight in a big way. It just sounds ridiculous that the employees are protected in matters relating to their salary while, let go the company into bankruptcy. I would never have minded paying more had I had the chance to go through the balance sheet. I am expressing my reaction and I think that all Worldspace listeners would never have deferred from paying more as its subscription. I shall not call this cheating, as you have expressed in your complaint, but pray to God that the situation takes a positive turn and may we enjoy Worldspace once again

i am also one among those lakhs of subscribers who feel cheated and thoroughly disgusted with the way we have been let down. as somebody asked, is nt there a co. in india to take over this wonderful idea? like many others i too persuaded my parents in a remote village in kerala to take a subscription just a month back . this closure and bowing out of india, i m sure did not happen in a day which means that the intention was only cheating and collecting as much as possible before leaving. i, m ready to take up this cause and lend my support to others who think the same. i can be reached at [protected]@madhuambat.com.

WorldSpace — cheating on subscription

Worldspace India has taken one year subscription money and discontinued services. I want my Rs 1800/- back from company

I was literally chased by world space agent during September -October to renew my subscrpition, even when my subscription will end only in November they forced me to renew the same in October and now I am left with whole one year subscription and a useless radio receiver and antenna. They should not be allowed to go unpunished for the fraud. They have deliberatly cheated lakhs of people knowing very well that they will be closing their broadcast soon. Let us all get together and fight this case else many such company, s will cheat us in future

This is big FRAUD. The company has taken us for a ride. I too had recommended and gifted four sets to my friends and relatives. Now I am feeling embarrassed and cheated. Aao sab mil ke ena goriyan di 'g**d' mariye. Saaliyan ne sanu HIndustaniyan nu fuddu bana ditta e.

I have got vouchers worth Rs. 13, 000/ which i had procured but hearing this announcement, i am shocked for words. It was an excellent source of entertainment. God knows what happened. I appeal to Raghavansir, to do something about this (to restart ) or make a sincere effort for all the money i have paid for the subscription...
