I have the same problem, we should get the money back for the intruments as well as the advance money paid for the renewal. What should we do with the instruments which the company has sold it to all its customers, should we keep it as a showcase and do some sort of pooja with it? Indian Govt must file the case in the US Bankruptcy Court to get all the claims as soon as possible. That's truly a case of a froeign company operating in the US and has branch in the India withholding the fruad with the foreign countries trade policies.

Please take some action as soon as possible.
I have just invested Rs 4280 in Dec 2009 for a new receiver and 15 month subscription. How dare the company make a mockery of common citizens like us. The entire management should be put behind bars and what about my refund. My new account is not even activated.

I have been a subscriber for the past 2 years... my subscription lapsed in the month of December 2009. I got a sms stating that by paying for 2 yrs, 6 additional months of subs. would be free... I went ahead and paid the amount in cash as they claimed that there was some problems with the bank and cheque was not accepted... Out of blue got the news that they are winding up operations...
There was not announcement whatsoever in any media until they stopped... if the company was winding up operations from Jan, i am sure the management should have stopped taking subscription/renewal... its making a mockery of public... Are we all helpless... is there anyway we all can get together and do something... if the same was done US or europe, the management would be behind bars...

I never knew that Rajeev Chandrashekar who is known to have so much cash out of sale of BPL mobile, would stoop such low. He is on FICCI and ASSOCAM, he made mockery of BPL and now his own start-up company is going to dogs. While I renewed the packaged in good faith I depended upon the collectors word of mouth, that India operation will not be hampered, even when I saw a sly smile on his face. Look we can never trust any product promoted by such insensitive people. I had taken 14 month package costing Rs:-2000/- which was valid till december 2010, now its gone waste.

i too agree with this, theynwere after us to pay the subscribtion in the month of september, i had pais RS 2000/-On 1st Jan 2010 which i switched on my radio, I sawTDM GONE.> i had sent a mail to world space. NO RESPONSE TILL NOWI called up the call centre but I was kept on hold and sometimed the route was busy. This radio was the best and i suggest that any Indian Company should resume this service.

I have suffered the same.I had paid for 2 years starting December 2009.
The worldspace consumer care number is not in operation. I am unable to open their website. Hence, could not complain. My subscription is valid for another 6 months. Is that WORLDSPACE has closed their India operations ? Can anybody confirm ? It is simply disgusting for a company to wind up their operation without taking the consumers in confidence. If all users are forming a consortium to file complain against WORLDSPACE, I wish to join the same.
I am very distressed and deeply shocked at the attitude shown by the world space.They have not yet taken any REMEDIAL action in spite of my repeated requests since long time and follow up on the matter.
We need to take up this issue with the consumer court or somewhere. Even with me, they actually repeatedly called in the 2nd and 3rd week of December and got the subscription renewed for 2 yrs. And then they suddenly suspended operations. THIS IS PLAIN SIMPLE CHEATING.
There should be a way out to get the refund for un-utilized services! Is going to consumer court a solution? May be a platform should be created whereby all consumers who were cheated should file a petition against WorldSpace. If anybody knows about anyaction taken in mass.. do let me know. Thanks.
This is definitely a big calculated fraud and commercial malpractice. I renewed my subscription for two years on 5 Dec 2009 by paying Rs 3600. Doesn't anybody out there have somebody in media to splash this fraud and get some relief to all the affected people...print, audio-visual media, GoI please wake up. I am sure some o[censored] also have been affected...It was such a wonderful service...
I renewed my subscription in Dec 09 for two years. This is ridiculous. There seems to be no protection for indian consumers from US Companies. They can take our money and walk away without problem.
Since the time we brought Worldspace into our household it had become a darling of the house!!! We miss it a lot...my situation is same as most of the respondants here but more than the loss of money the loss of "PURE ENTERTAINMENT" is what is saddening...we have in India many big Companies which are capable of reviving Worldspace in India or perhaps starting a similar one...we all as music lovers, must appeal to these Companies to come forward and do something...the Government too should extend all support for a change to which ever Company is planning to revive Worldspace...hope this is not just a wishful thinking!!!

Yesterday I could trace a cell no of one of a WORLD SPACE representative (BARODA( Gujarat) and spoke to him.

I asked him, when wordl sapce has stopped its services why they had collected money? He said that he being an employee did not know that the company is closing and he had collected atleast 15 subscribtions on 23 dec. On 24th dec he was asked not to collect money as there was some technical fault and finally they closed on 31st dec.The employee said, THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ME 2 MONTHS SALARY. I feel world space has not only cheated us but has cheated its own employees. Regarding refund he told me to apply on line www.worldspace.com.

I feel, all customers should fight for their money
I had renewed my subscription for Worldspace on 10/12/2009 4:58:46 PM for the India Silver Special - 12 Months package. My Receiver Id is: [protected]. The invoice # for the transaction is: WS-WEB-ren[protected]R. Please let me know how to get my money back and also what do I need to do with the stupid receiver and the antenna? Are we going to get the money back or have these guys just vanished in thin air. Worldspace - we trusted like fools in you... But I will get you to pay me... I will not let you get away with my money...
I was conned into this. I have been a subscriber of Worldspace for 4 years. I renewed the subscription till Nov 2010. All that I received is an email which said, I could register for claims and it will be treated at US or something to that extent. The only hope is that someone buys the equipment and starts India services.
Very fraud. I paid Rs 1800/- on Dec 2009 for renewal up to Nov 2010.
I renew my subscription upto Dec 2010. When I noticed my set is showing TDM GONE. I checked all connections and PAD antena positon. All hardware I found ok, even then it was showing TDM GONE. I tried to contact to call center but reply was this no. does not exit. I tried to visit their site but it is not found on net by google. today i come to konw that their all activities are closed. If it is so, it is cheating. World space should be booked for such act.
yes they collected renewal for 2 years but thwy stoped without information and they have not refunded money also
all phone are swiched off
