I purchased an exide battery sr no a3e6e002605 3e62, type invamore 1500 on 04/06/16 from exide authorized dealer ms sri jayalaxmi enterprises.
The warranty on the battery is for 36 months.
About 20 days back the inverter stopped working & on inspection it was found that the battery has discharged completely. I therefore dialed the dealer for replacement of battery, he asked me to dial the customer care number of exide batteries. Which i did about 15 days back, the cc registered my complaint & the regd no given was sapa 00006525u169. I was told that a service engineer will contact shortly, i waited for about 3 days since there was no response i called in again, after this call a service engg visited my house & after inspection told me that he is helpless as he can't take the battery along with him, i insisted that he either replace the battery or get this fully charged, but the did not relent, instead he told me to pursue with the dealer only, i kept telling him that the dealer will not act & you are trying to pass your responsibility to the dealer!! He left with an assurance that the dealer will attend to this. Now its more than 7 days since i am following up with the dealer & he is giving one or the other excuse for not coming over. Today when i shouted on him he told me that the charges for servicing the battery will be rs 500.
Now is this what is expected of exide, i feel cheated. I have been an exide customer form ages, this experience has shown me the true face of exide, it seems they are simply not bothered to provide customer satisfaction, or they have become so arrogant that they simply don't care!!
This was the last battery which i & my family has ever purchased from exide.
Exide Industries customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
