Hathway Account No: [protected]
I had taken a new Hathway cable connection in August 2018 with yearly subscription of Rs. 3300 (+ some charges = Rs. 3600). It included all SD+HD channels for a year, without any condition. All was hunky-dory till new TRAI rules kicked in for user's choice of channels.
This is how it went: Hathway / local cable operator never informed me about change of plan to some Sport Packs worth Rs. 338. The plan was activated on my account WITHOUT MY CONSENT. The plan removed all my HD channels and has only free and sports SD channels.
When I called up cable operator twice, he refused to change anything saying plan has been assigned by Hathway. They have not refunded the money to your wallet. Operator asked me to call Hathway Customer Care to get the balance in wallet so that I could choose channels of my choice for rest of the months (till August 2019). He also gave me an email ID: [protected]@hathway.net. I mailed them with the issue on 6th March 2019. It's been 16 days now, no response yet.
Called up Hathway Customer Care on 17th March 2019. The Customer Care Executive asked me to select channels on the Hathway.com and directly enter my Hathway card & account details so that the plan will be activated. I did that. And guess what, all my channels which were running, are totally gone! I have nothing to watch on TV since that day.
Called up Hathway Customer Care again on 21st March 2019, to enquire. The Customer Care Executive informed me that "I" had DEACTIVATED the current running plan! Another surprise this is for me. He said, if the plan was running, we could have refunded your money (which could have been done in the call on 17th March 2019). Wow, the earlier CC Executive did not know this?
He has now raised a complaint in his system and Hathway is supposed to refund my money to wallet and allow me choose channels of my choice for tenure till August 2019.
@Hathway Team: Can you care to take a note of the pain I am going through? Or you want me to go a step further in Consumer Court? Please advise!
