[Resolved]  PVR Cinemas — Cost of snacks-popcorn

Address: 560037
Website: www.pvrcinemas.com

The cost of snacks in pvr is becoming unaffordable these days. The cost of a regular salted popcorn is rs. 190 and cheese/ caramel flavour is rs. 220. The actual cost of the same amount of popcorn anywhere outside would cost merely rs. 20 or max rs. 50. Then on what basis is the cost of popcorn starting at rs. 190? Can't the government take any action on this?

What are you going to do with my Mobile no. and email ID? This is a general complaint and not about one particular incident. You can work on the cost to make it reasonable.
Why this unjustice pricing of the Food . You charge more than the MRP for the beverages as well. When it is clearly mentioned on the bottle. And you try to close the complaint by merely asking the Phone number and email ID. This is unfair all o[censored]s share this problem.

Consumer forum has to provide the justice for this Unjustified pricing by PVR cinemas. You either allow us to carry our own food / snacks or beverages or Sell the things in MRP price.

I am shocked to see how can someone sell More than MRP in India. It is unlawful.
Un-ethical buisness format, Any justification why such costing. What happens to the money that's collected ? Also why outside food is not allowed in theatre ? Its not a restaurant to say outside food not allowed.
Truly anti-customer and monopolistic practices. Customers should be given option to carry their home food items or the prices charged for food items in theatre should be reasonable.
Government should do something to check such customer harassment.
I Love Watching in PVR Cinemas but no for pop corn 260 rs is really expensive than other

My Suggestion i demand to reduce pop corn for the quality to max 120 to 150 orelse its really day robbing by you PVR..

I Gonna Complaint this ###### and must teach lesson for robbing us
If you are talking about the F&B prices, they are absolutely insane at PVRs and meant to loot the patrons. PVR folks, if you seeing - you are supposed to make profit but what you are doing is called profiteering (and very unethical).

I will tell you about yesterday (4th May 2018)

1 coffee - Rs 140
1 bottle of water (500 ml) - Rs 60
1 cheese popcorn (regular size) - Rs 270
2 samosas - Rs 120
1 Regular Pepsi - Rs 220

How on earth are these rates set and how are they even justifiable? Rs 60 for 500 ml of water? Really? The price of a simple filter coffee has gone up from Rs 80 some time back to Rs. 140 now. Heck, it has increased by Rs. 10 from my previous visit (less than a month ago). Government needs to place serious curbs. We citizens need to get this thing in check
koi bhi middle class amily 100 bar sochti h ek movei lan karne k liye and 1000 times sochti h 3 ghnate vaha bina khaye keise rahenge, becs 5-6 family member agar movei jayenge to avrage unko 1500/- ticket price aur[protected] kuch snacks ka budget bnana padta h . toatl 3000 miniumum . foods rate km hone chahiye . market se 10% etra le lo but 10 rup wali botel k 60/- howww??????????????????????
Adding to this I have problems with the packed food MRP as well. Why a company like Coca-cola, Pepsi are creating separate MRP bottles? Is this not illegal?
Cheaters, PVR Cinemas should be abandoned by the customers. Bloody money looting chors.
Airtel voda jaisi halat ho jayegi tumhri v. Jio ke jaisa hi kuch aisa ayega ki tumlogo ko koi puchega v nahi. Sambhal jao all cinemas
Every one should stop eating in PVR, then only I feel government will take action to reduce the price..
it is difficult to go to PVR with family because of these food price. because it makes as feel bad. That is why I stopped going to watch movie in PVR with family.
I have enjoyed watching movies in PVR as their seats are comfortable and the lightening is good. However, food prices are tooooo high. Further, I have been asking for the movie shows for the hearing impaired and there is not a single person who has been able to respond. My father loves to watch movies but unable as he cannot hear clearly. There was so much media coverage on pvr having shows for the differently abled but on the ground there appears to be nothing
i know infact the management doesn’t give two cents worth of importance to these complaints. I know no one would listen to the actual inconvenience of people who support your business.
People who support your business are majority of students and workers of this society. They earn minimum wage. You tax them their days worth of money to buy a small tub of popcorn.
I hope your conscience isn’t lost on you. I hope someday you Come down from your cloud nine and realise what you’re doing is simply insane.
I hate PVR because you are cheaters you loot our money by increasing the amount of foods.Atleast if you dont want to decrease your price let us take outside food. Its not fair Govt has to take a strict order against this.
The overall experience to watch movies in PVR is good but the foood prices are a matter of concern as they have been increasing ever since the major being tht one Pepsi costs u 260 bucks (small) that is available at 30 bucks in market and which is also a self service. This is not an ethical way of charging the customers who spend for expensive movie tickets and then pay such huge amounts of bill for just popcorns and Pepsi !!!
Such instances need to come under control of the management for future betterment.
The only way to stop these looting is to stop watching movie in theater, One regular popcorn cost now is Rs.380/-. After Covid, they increased the price in multiple fold like petrol. If government themselves doing such practice, how do you expect government will put regulation to private firm. All business firms including government will simply it is demand based pricing. Like what our railways does and similarly our omni buses does the same. Guys we all live in India. Shut your mouth and accept it. Because most of the people already accepted. What ever the price, people are standing in the que to buy the popcorn. So how do you expect PVR or government will listen our voice.
