This complaint is regarding the sony bravia kdl - 48w600b we had purchased on september 13, 2014 on 25/09/2015, we faced an issue with the television automatically switching off while we were watching it. when tried to restart the set, we experienced an issue which is a known issue worldwide i. e. 6 times red led blinking issue. the red led blinks on and off for 6 times and the tv is not operating properly. before calling customer support, we performed factory reset; however, the problem still persists. even the technical support couldn’t resolve the issue and informed us that an engineer would visit us there will be a charge for 230 inr for the visit and service charge would be rs 1200 as service charges inr. also, if the problem is with any part, we will have to bare the charges and this entire process would take 10 – 15 days, which didn’t make any sense as the issue is not because of mishandling or careless use of the product but with the product/model itself. during my conversation with customer care, i requested to speak with a manager so that i could escalate the issue and expedite the process; however, i was informed that there was no manager available and i would receive a call back, which i didn’t. it is very disappointing when you have to go through this with a brand like sony. if an led tv from a brand like sony doesn’t work for even 2 years, on what basis should customers differentiate between sony and other brands? it makes more sense to buy products from cheaper brands which cost far less, and unfortunately if there are problems, the repairs are also going to be cheaper and faster. thanks! syed sajid [protected]
