I called the hdfc customer care as a long time customer of hdfc credit card to ask for suggestions to settle my credit card total amount, since i'm literally on the verge of bankruptcy.
Over the years i kept paying the minimum payment diligently, & last 1 & half years or so i haven't even used the card but kept making the minimum payments. i suffered a jobless 6 months last year & then got a job at a startup in pune for a much lesser salary, where i've been for the last 8 months, & i still continue to make the minimum payments, in a very tight financial status.
However, now i have more responsibilities towards my parents & their health expenses to add to my existing financial demons.
In such an event, i called hdfc to ask for suggestions to settle the card because i cannot afford to pay those minimum payments that are basically interest & finance charges & doesn't really decrease my total due amount. i was firstly told "you have taken the card, you have to pay the charges", in an aggressive tone, if i might add, which i still acknowledged & politely said again about my status & inability & also requested to talk to a supervisor or manager who might understand the situation & might know how to help me out, & she said "they will tell you the same thing, there's no other way, you have to pay either the whole amount or the minimum", this time even more rudely, & as i was about to request she hung up on me, she just hung up. so much for customer service & so much for assistance by a bank representative for a financial bankruptcy settlement request.
Is this how a banking official supposed to treat or (not) assist a customer, especially someone who's been sincerely paying over the years & is a polite caller??
I really need help, & i can't find an hdfc credit collections department number either. please lodge this complaint & please help me with the collection-settlement information.

HDFC Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
Kindly note we have received representment (ATM Log) from the ATM acquiring Bank stating that the transaction was successful. As per the network operating guidelines, the ATM log is sufficient and conclusive proof of successful cash dispensation. Hence, the transaction has not been credited to your account. You can visit your account branch and view the Proof of transaction (ATM Log) that has been shared by the acquiring Bank.
