Greetings of the day!!!

This is to bring to your kind notice that i, mrs. Balaka ray had booked a holiday package for malayasia and singapore on september, 2019. This was our planned honeymoon trip and we were to travel on the 1st of march, 2020. Our return to india was scheduled on the 10th of march, 2020. Our departure and arrival city was kolkata. For your kind reference, the booking reference number is: nl[protected] and the booking is done in the name of my husband mr. Joydeep bhattacharya.

However, with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic (As had been declared by who) we were forced to abort our plan and had to go ahead with the cancellation of the aforementioned trip. Being our honeymoon trip, we were not ready to take any risk at that point of time which would also cause a great deal of anxiety and fear to our near and dear ones. Adding to that, we had to undergo the entire quarantine process and stay in isolation to ensure we do not infect others around us, if we had decided to travel. I feel it would have been very irrational and irresponsible o[censored]s if we had travelled then, considering the extent to which the disease had impact all nations, including singapore and malaysia. As per facts presented by who, singapore was in a high alert zone during that time and malaysia was almost at the top of the pile in terms of people affected by this deadly virus. You can cross-reference this with the data presented by who during those times.

We had hence requested the makemytrip team (And contacted our booking agent and other relationship executives from the organization) to initiate the cancellation of the entire holiday package and provide us a refund of the initial booking amount paid on the very day the booking was confirmed. The initial booking amount was inr 67000 and it is approximately 44% of the total booking amount (Inr 153395). But the response from the organization had been utterly frustrating and the manner in which they dealt with our request was unprofessional. They had been very causal with the precautions as well, and insisted on travelling by following protocols and taking necessary safety measures. We had presented our case before them stating that there is no point in travelling for leisure where there is a life risk involved and where safety protocols need to be followed and that this cancellation is a forced one, and it was driven by the pandemic which had already infected millions and claimed lives of several thousands. The extent of its severity can be illustrated now as well, as with each day the count of people infected rises and so many restrictions being imposed on the people around the world, inclusive of travel and getting out in the open.

Our plea before you is to kindly take this with the concerned organization so that we get a full refund of the initial booking amount paid. We are not willing to settle for anything less than that, especially after all the ill experience we had in dealing with them and after constantly writing to them in details of the ordeal.in this time of distress and grave disorder we had expected cooperation from them. Additionally, the amount paid is not less by any means and has a lot of value for people like us who belong to the middle class. We cannot see such an amount being spent for nothing, especially when this trip had an emotional connect with us (Being our honeymoon trip).

Requesting to kindly act on this at the earliest so that we can look towards a fruitful resolution that ends this ordeal. I thank you for your continuous help and support, and would request you to reach out to me for any further clarification.

Please can I get an update on our complaint as nothing seems to be moving forward. This has been going around since February 2020. We had raised this the on the very first occasion when the COVID-19 had started impacting lives and data will show that Singapore and Malaysia were at the top of the list when we were about to travel. This complaint is not been taken seriously and I believe our concerns were never given importance, despite the grim and dismal situation the world is now in. Lot of people took things lightly during that time and we know the bigger picture right now when the world is stranded and is at a standstill literally. Hence I request everyone to look into this and do the needful. The money we had paid is by no means a small amount, and given the pandemic situation, it's absolutely justified to seek a full refund of the same. Kindly cooperate and help in the resolution.

Please can I get an update on the complaint lodged. It should not be closed and we demand full cooperation from all stakeholders to address our grievances. MakeMyTrip team had refunded an amount of Rs. 10000 and that too in gift card which is unacceptable with respect to the total amount we had paid for the entire trip. Let me reiterate that we had cancelled the trip due to the COVID-19 pandemic and if we had gone ahead it would have jeopardized our lives and the lives of our near and dear ones. What this virulent disease has done in the last few months is something known to everyone in the world, so we feel justified in asking for a full refund given the situation. Kindly engaged with the MakeMyTrip and provide us with a hopeful and positive response.

      I had a connecting flight from mumbai to kolkata via delhi but the flight from mumbai to kolkata has been canceled. I am trying to cancel the flight from last evening but despite being in the queue for more 40 minutes for almost 26 times my call gets disconnected. I even tweeted the concern in air india twitter handle but received no response. Kindly help.

        Subject : wrong calculation of refund, mmt bkg ref - nn[protected]

        Ref - indigo flight cancellation as well as refund advise recd from mmt is given below.

        I had booked this trip vide nn[protected] on 1st mar'20 and modified my return from 22/3 to 21/3 by paying diff of rs 3352 thru mmt

        Due to coronavirus, indigo canceled the flight as per communication from indigo and i filed a refund claim on 18/3 post receipt of below mail. Instead of getting a full refund, i got rs 2028 as agst rs 10651

        This needs to be looked at and a balance refund to be released.

        I am an NRI. No call received from MMT. I can be reached at +968 99415203. Indigo canceled the flight and I recd mail from them at 1 am in the morning of 18th Mar and so I canceled my bkg citing non-operational of flight by providing the proof from the airline. Despite, I got the refund of rs 2028 as agst full refund of Rs 10651

          I booked a hotel through makemytrip on 16th march 2020. Booking was from 18th march 2020 till 21st march 2020 and paid inr 3224 for same. Booking was confirmed by makemytrip and was marked as mmt assured booking where they said if problem is faced i will get full refund.

          I went to hotel jolly swagman backpackers on 18th march 2020 and they denied admission due to covid19 restrictions that were announced on 15th march 2020 (I. E. A day before i made booking). Hotel also asked me to book another one with them at the reception with three times the cost of earlier booking (Even though the new booking again was not in accordance to covid19 restrictions). I denied booking the new one at higher price.

          I reported the issue to makemytrip on 18th march 2020 itself and till date (I. E. After 6 days have passed), still not received refund. I am chasing them on same on a daily basis but of no use. This has already costed me a lot as i had to book another hotel at a much higher price at last moment to this issue and would like to receive a full refund from makemytrip along with appropriate compensation for a false booking confirmation from them.

            I have booked my flight tickets del-mumbai roundtrip for 28 mar 2020 -31 mar 2020 in feb 2020 with insurance against flight cancellation with full refund that is valid till 27 mar 2020 from make my trip.
            Due to chrona, i was trying to cancel my flight yesterday, and it was showing no refund..
            Today after sending so many mails regarding this, i got call from them that they are not providing any refunds on cancellation and they has nullified my insurance at their own..
            I asked them that they had not intimate me for this. And i have paid additional money to buy insurance to cover any type o[censored]ncertainity.
            But they refused me by saying that this has been done by the airlines..i asked for something in writing they sent me a mail on behalf of make my trip.
            Dear Sir,
            I belongs to a middle class family and i had taken insurance in advance because i cannot afford loss of money due to any reason in my family.i paid Rs 26800 at time of booking including insurance.
            But now i want to cancel tickets as per govt guidelines to not to travel, and make my trip has refused to pay my ticket refund.

            Sir, i hope you understand the problems we are facing. While rescheduling the ticket they provide waiver only till 30 april, with fare difference.
            My kids are small and i dnt prefer to travel in april in these circumstances.
            If i reschedule it in after april they are charging extra Rs 20000+ fare difference that also i cant afford anymore.

            Kindly do the needful to assist me in getting my full refund.

            Now after complaining they are just refunding me my insurance premium only. And dragged their feet to pay my insurance cover i.e my full refund while cancellation of flight due to chrona virus.
            I am not intersted to cancel my flights infact under govt guidelines and for safety of all i have to drop travelling...as per govt..guidelines

              This regards to cancellation charges of my flight return tickets which i had booked on[protected]Ahmedabad-cochin-ahmedabad) for 3 persons. My travel date was 25th may 2020 and return on[protected] and booking referenc number is nf[protected]. I had paid near abount 4200 extra to makemytrip because there was an offier of zero cancellation. So total return ticket i had booked and paid rs. 29121. Now yesterday ie[protected], when i had take a decision for cancellation due to current sicuation of covid-19, they are charging rs 18000+1800 as a cancellation charges. When i chase with makemytrip chat option on there webportal, always automated answer or repply comming that for cancellation they will charg this amount and paid balance. Why? And on web portal there is no alternative option except chat option. There should be a legal nodal officer where customer can raise their query. Now please guide.

                I had made bookings in MMT for flights on 22nd and 24th march with booking IDs NH[protected] and NF[protected]. The flights have been cancelled by the airlines though no refund has been initiated in the process. I have made several calls to both the airlines and mmt for the same but with no resolution.

                  On 14th of march 2020, i purchased two tickets : from chennai to madurai and back again - from madurai to chennai from makemytrip which seemed to be reliable at that time. As of today 22nd of march 2020, the indian government has passed an order to stop railway transport until 30th march 2020 in order to minimize the affects of corona spreading in india.

                  After viewing the data in the news and in online platforms, i cancelled both the tickets from makemytrip in which they charged rs.725/- for cancellation of 1 ticket (From madurait to chennai) and the second ticket was stated to be "no refund due" (Couldnt cancel from "@www.irctc.in" as it was initially booked in makemytrip). When the government of india says and orders that full refund will be given to customers in this critical situation, makemytrip is clearly not following the law passed by the government and trying its maximum effects to scam as much as money as it can from poor people.

                  Received an official irctc mail stating that 1 ticket will be refunded for rs.1820/- and i was asked to talk with the agent where the agent (Makemytrip) is only paying me rs.1795 for the same ticket and rs.0 for another ticket.

                  Simultaneously i have tried my best efforts to negotiate and talk with makemytrip but they have been irresponsible and unresponsive to my complaints in all their customer support platforms.
                  Never in my life im going to trust this again, as it can be seen clearly that they are using this critical situation in un-human nature to steal people's money.

                  Money lost to makemytrip scam : rs.3000+

                    Hi,

                    I have tried to call customer care ([protected]) multiple times but i did not get anyone to pick my call. This is regarding my ticket booked with makemytrip from hyderabad to patna and then patna to hyderabad (14/03/2020). I have cancelled my spouse ticket from hyderabad to patna (04/03/2020) but it's there from patna to hyderabad (I have pasted snapshot down). I have got cancellation receipt for the same mentioning just one. When i went taking makemytrip itinerary for boarding flight from patna airport spicejet confirmed they have only one passenger list name ie ravindra kumar singh not other annu priya. They have shown same on their database when i shown them makemytrip itinerary they asked us to check with you (Makemytrip) as they cannot do anything else. This caused me to leave my flight as well as i cannot travel alone as we both have a common bag which was around 26 kg.

                    This situation caused lot of harassment. Unfortunately when i tried to reach makemytrip there is no one there to pick my call. Finally i got email address to register my complain which never replied back. I am not sure when when will i hear back but once you (Makemytrip) come to know through this please look how it happened that flight cancelled both way for annu priya with spicejet when i did only for hyderabad to patna and why does makemytrip still shows both while spicejet shows only mine.

                    Please process complete refund as this is makemytrip issue and cause us not to board flight.

                      Their webpage is showing I can reschedule my flight free of cost due to corona. But when you actually try to reschedule, it asking money. It's really ashame. In this panic situation also they are making money. Trying call customer care since 1 week they are not taking any calls, airline is asking to go through Mmt. What can I do now. It's totally waste of money. Really these are frods. At time of booking they will 10000 timesbut now when booked they don't even care to pick a call. Please give me refund back or reschedule flight. They hv mentioned this on their page web.

                      I have booked a flight from Mumbai to Melbourne on 25th March but will not be able to fly because of restrictions. My flight is on Singapore airlines. I paid 50000/- only 6000 is refund. Also rebooking additional 30000/- is being charged extra. I am feeling cheated.

                        I booked a ticket for manchester-mumbai on turkish airlines for march 20, 2020. Due to the travel advisory, i have been trying to speak to makemytrip but i'm perpetually on hold. After holding for more than 1 hour, finally lost patience and disconnected. Now i get a message that my problem is resolved but i have no clue what the resolution is since i did not speak to anyone w. R. T. My problems.

                        There is no email id that i can write on. I found one email address and wrote on that but the mail bounced back.

                        How in heaven's name are we supposed to connect with them?

                            Hi,
                            I booked two trips of tickets for my family on march 15, 2020

                            1st ticket - booked for 4 members. Total charges = 575.46
                            Trichy - chennai
                            Trip date = march 30, 2020

                            2nt ticket - booked for 3 members : total charges = 424.97
                            Chennai to trichy
                            Trip date = april 2, 2020.

                            The refund amount for 1st trip should be 265 and second trip should be 315. But in makemytrip portal, they are showing wrong refund calculation.
                            Wrong calculation for 1st trip = 105 | actual amount = 265
                            Wrong calculation for 2nd trip = 165 | actual amount = 315

                            Please help me to get the correct refund amount. I will attach my screenshots.

                              This is very first time i made booking from make my trip and because of corona virus problems i did cancelled my tickets directly from airlines it's round trip from dubai to patna. I been trying to communicate with make my trip from a week everyday on call i can't reach even waiting on call for hours i just want you guys to make my refund as it's already cancelled by through airlines here the information

                                I have cancelled hotel booking from my holiday package nl[protected] on 25th feb. Mmt informed me that i would receive refund amount within 7 to 10 working days but still i have not received anything almost 25 days passed.
                                On mmt website still it is showing "refund is being processed".
                                I have sent mail regarding same but no response received from mmt.

                                  Hi,
                                  I have recently made a booking for flight on the 22nd of march costing 11, 554 which has been deducted twice from my account.

                                  Request you to kindly revert back the duplicate amount. The booking id is nf[protected] i have tried calling helpdesk repeatedly but with no help. I have stayed on line for long hours to reach but with no resolution. Please help. This is as much a crisis situation us too

                                    First of all, i would like to highlight that i have been trying to reach you'll via phone or chats but there is no response at all and unable to speak to any of your customer care for the existing bookings, whereas for the new bookings it is getting connected. This is really not the way i expected from makemytrip team. This is really sorry state of affairs and i am completely upset. When i need your support and to know information i am left in the dark.
                                    For the below refund, i am not fine with you'll providing me refund for only rs. 3, 143.00 only for the flight cancelled by air india airlines for no fault of mine, you'll are penalizing me for what?
                                    On what basis have you adjusted the coupon amount of rs. 1000 in this, when i had used this coupon for to and fro flights. This is not the way...
                                    I look forward that you'll refund me the entire amount of rs. 4, 282.00 for bangalore to hyderabad air india flight being cancelled by the carrier itself and not only rs. 3, 143.00.
                                    If this is the case, then i will be left no option but to show this method of loot on print/ social/ tv media.

                                      I tried to cancel my ticket, website not responding and given revert message as to contact through phone numbers, if i call there not responding. Due to this i could not able to cancel my ticket which make me a loss of rs 32000.

                                      So i need compensation for this issue.
