[Resolved]  ICICI Bank Credit Card — Fraud by ICICI bank

I would like to bring to your attention following facts about the unethical and illegal practice of ICICI Credit card division and bank and cheating being done.

A Credit card No - was issued to me on November 2002 which got expired on November 2004 . First The bank charged [debited ] annual fees from my savings bank account towards the annual charges while It was issued a life time free of cost basis and Later this was amount credited to my card account which is still unused and unnecessarily blocked for no fault of mine.

On August 2007 I was shocked to receive a SMS alert informing that Some transaction has been conducted through the card issued to me .Since I had not used this card at all therefore I immediately informed the customer care to block the card and transactions through this card.

I was assured through a telephone call from your customer care division that needful will be done and card has been blocked.

After that my credit card statement issued to me for the period August- September 07 reflected an amount of Rs.17958/ only to be paid to the bank for the transactions supposedly conducted by me . I informed the customer care that these transactions have not been done by me at all and I had already informed customer care about it.

Subsequently a fresh statement reversing the amount of Rs. 17958/ was issued pending enquiry into the matter.

After some time bank issued statement reflecting the amount again which I had not spent through my card.

I had sent many letters and emails to charge back department [ as advised by customer care ]to explain how transactions have been conducted and authorised by the credit card division but no reply on the matter has been sent to me till date about it.

Subsequently I met one of your employee from credit card collection Mr Ankit Goel ( Rohini Delhi Branch )to resolve the issue but he neither resolved nor revert on the case despite of my rigorous follow-up.

Now from January 2008 onward Your recovery agent start to calling me and abusing me for delay payments and on 1 st March 2008 I received an SMS that ICICI bank has transfered an amount of Rs. 20,760.00 from my Saving Bank accountno .This has been done without any information, discussion or knowledge .

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Fraudulent Charges

Dear All,

With reference to ICICI Bank Credit Card [protected] I would like to state that the card was fraudulently used after it was stolen and repeated calls to ICICI Customer Care failed to block it at the right time.

The credit card being a photo credit card, the responsibility lies equally with merchant establishments to verify the credentials of the person presenting the same which seem to have been completely violated in the case and are the norm by ICICI Bank Standards as they refused to accept any wrong-doing on the part of merchant vendors accepting the card without checking for either signature or photograph on the credit card.

The crisis doesnt end there, after the case was lodged with banking ombudsman, the bank officials decided unilaterally that the liability is solely for the the card-holder and not of the the errant vendors who conveniently swipe the card without verifying for anything, not even the photograph on the front panel.

Subsequent to which, ICICI Bank has now blocked the amount outstanding on the credit card from my savings bank account maintained with them.

I'm surprised and shocked at the new low created by them..this is a real blow to ethical and professional conduct by corporate organization who claim to blow the trumpet of goodness and customer service with punchlines like 'the power of belief' and 'hum hain na..'

I have no expectation for any fair treatment by ICICI Bank under any circumstances, the bank is being solely dictated by profit making agenda and they're willing to go to any lengths to extract the last penny from anyone's pocket.

May God bless them with some sense of rationality and civilization.

I'm sure nobody will ever contact me for resolution of the issue.

You guys are super-inefficient and unethical people running bank with the sole motivation being making your bottomline grow at the fastest pace with no concern to any other factors.

You can have a look at the previous concern raised by me earlier here with the same comments given by you as now and nobody ever contacted me ever.

I've filed a complaint with banking ombudsman though and can only pray that god for you guys to have some ethics and dignity.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Delay in cancelling the card

Dear Consumer Forum,
I received the below mentioned e-notice from ICICI bank on my credit card payment.
In relation to the same I would like to bring the following to your attention and request the forum’s intervention in the subject matter
• I had approached ICICI Bank dated back to December 2009 to place a request for cancellation of my card.
• The same was not acknowledged in a manner proper at any of their branches at Coimbatore and even received a curt reply that my card did not carry any delinquency and therefore cannot surrender.
• Therefore I resort to writing to ICICI bank in the regard after clearing the outstanding of 35000/- dated 4/12/2009.
• My correspondence was acknowledged by Mr.Ibu Sam through a reply carrying the reference number 010710/4974713C explaining the details of the ICICI Lombard policy attached to the card and I had to clear the remaining 4 installment s of the policy amount before proceeding with the cancellation.
• I had agreed to pay the same if they let me know of the amount and had clearly in my response(Attachment #2) stated concurrence. Further to which I had not received any intimation on the payment amount. My accountability on any further debit after 4th of January was also explained in comprehensible terms a s I no longer carried the credit card with me but had reduced the same to bits and couriered to ICICI Bank addressed to their office at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The same was done as gesture of protest marking clear disinterest to continue with the relationship with ICICI bank.
• I was given the regular automated payment reminders via phone & postal statements, but never on a manuel intervention to address the query.
• I recently received a call from a collection agent to whom I had explained the history. The agent promised that his manager would get in touch with me, but never the less, it is a legal notice that I received.
Given the above details, would like to know how the forum could protect my rights as consumer when my right to surrender my credit card was prolonged by the banker to the extent of sending legal notice threatening to publish my photo in newspapers to create awareness among the public and blacklisting self with the master / visa card franchises.
How would the forum extend support in making the banker understand that even I have my reserved rights to approach media as well.
Also request the forum to please note the time stamp on the email as early as 3:16 am in the morning on a Sunday which is a highly inappropriate time and day to receive a notice.
To conclude even today am willing to make the remaining 4 of my installments and not any of the remaining unruly charged amounting to 4720/- , provided that the banker assures me of cancellation of my card.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Rs. 398 o/s became Rs. 2800+ defaulter

I was holding a credit card for ICICI bank since 02/2007.

There was a bill (they say), i have made some purchase of Rs. 398 from a shop, for which there was never a bill sent to me nor did and SMS ever came in my mobile.

Suddenly one fine day (21/09/2010) approx. 6 months after the purchase date , i got a call from ICICI bank on my residence landline no. that I have an outstanding due of around Rs. 2800+. This was the biggest surprise and shock to me. On being asked about the breakup and what shopping i made etc etc, the lady informed me that I have made a purchase of Rs. 398/- from some lifestyle store (which i still not remember), and the interest charge,defaulter charge etc etc makes the sum close to Rs. 2800.

We have shifted the residence 10 months ago, for which the information was shared with all the banks and other departments informing the address change.

In the last 6 months i never received any mail,letter,SMS,or phone call on my cell or landline no. informing that the amount was due.
On being asked that i never got any information from ICICI bank and asked what stopped ICICI bank to call me in these last 6 months, and where they waiting for the amount to mount up to Rs.2800+. The lady replied that it is not the responsibility of ICICI bank to call the client for their amount due.

Now can some one tell me , for Rs. 398, can some one be a defaulter ??

Dear sir,
they gave me a settlement for an amount of 19, 000.00.
the letter was dated on 15/07/2008 and they brought me the letter on 18/07/2008.in that letter they mentioned to make the payment on 16/08/2008.
at that time the concerned manager spoke to me on telephone that even on 18/07/2008 i can make the payment for settlement. i issued a cheque for an amount of Rs.19, 000.00 vide a cheque and even i have a receipt for that.
after a month i received a statement showing some balance in my account, i called to call centre regarding, they told me that my account is made zero.

after 6 months i received a call from saifabad branch regarding the card.
i personally went to the bank and showed the sattlement letter and the receipt to them.again they told me the same as my account is made zero.from then onwards there is no coresspondance from them.
now after 2 years icici credit card division blocked my savings account with an amount of Rs.11, 500.00.
i went to gachobowli and contacted a manager and also the regional manager over there and handed over the duplicate copies of the settlement letter and receipt in the month of july'2010.
from then onwards i was regularly contacting them regarding my issue.
there is no response.
now when i saw the online statement, they adjusted 11, 400.00 as the part payment and more 12, 000.00 due amount.
this is not at all fair on their part.
i have not used the card after settlement. and they waved out only Rs.8, 00.00 at the time of settlement 2 years back.and with out intimation they were going on adding interest for more than one and half year.
my card limit was only 20, 000.00.and now they asked me to pay the amount for rs.23, 000.00

suggest me how to solve my problem.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — wrong transaction on my credit card

This is with reference to transaction on my ICICI Bank credit card No. [protected] of Rs 10172.93/- which was not been purchased by me & bank shows it in my statement as dues. vide Ref No. 071709/442104C & complaint no. is SR 90707166, After notice I immediately informed the bank for the same but after investigating they closed the matter on[protected] on their own favour, thereafter I was repeatedly making correspondence to get it writeoff as I do not relate to the same, I am also not in a position to spare time to get it resolved as the bank is not listening my points and they told me to get it settled with mutual consent but why should I pay any amount when I do not have purchased for a single rupee, I am working in a sales deptt. and not having much time to make conversation repeatedly with the bank neiher I take a leave from my office to resolve the dispute as I am having s responsibility of my family as my father is a heart patient and going under regular treatment and the bank enforce me to get the amount paid which gives me mentally harrasment & I do not able to work properly due to the same reason. It is requested to kindly get it investigated properly and get the dues writeoff and also I would like to claim a compensation of Rs 50000/- from ICICI Bank for getting me mentally harrassed.Thanking you,with regards, Ved Prakash DwivediM.No. [protected].

ICICI Bank Credit Card — wrongly shown due amount from june-10 to oct-10 which i was not aware till oct-10

on 16/06/2010 i have paid and cleared the full due amt of Rs. 4152/- which was cleared on 18/06/2010. after that i have not used the credit card till oct-10 and now i came to realise in oct that my due amount is Rs.2511/-. detail i will discuss with your executive on my phone. i have contact on your customer care mumbai no. so many times but could not contact. now i request you to kindly contact me urgently otherewise i dont have any option but to discontinue the card and i will send you the torn card by regd. a/d Kindly look into the matter urgently. my phone no. ICICI Bank Credit Card — Contact details not updated

Hi,
I updated my contact details of my credit card with ICICI customer care, this was done since I have dues to be paid for my usage in the card. I lost my job and after 2 months I got into new job and informed about my relocation, new contact number and the request them to wait for 2 more month so i can start my payments. But the collection mailed a legal notice to my old address and filed a complaint and started to call to my native number and abusing my parents for payment. Then I got the collections number I called them and requested them for a 20days time, so I will get my salary, but he abused me saying if i fail to make the payment, he will forward the complaint to my company HR as an internal mail, and warned me not to get into the trap. Is this possible for a collection agent to do so, I too worked in Bank in collection dept for 7 months, but i never seen guys abusing when the customer request them with the proper reason and good track record. He scolded my dad with useless things. I started my payments, within 2 weeks I got a promotional call from ICICI bank saying they are giving this offer on my card. See the banking people behaviour.

When I was working in Bharti- Axa Life Insurance Co. Ltd, my salary use to credit in my Account I worked from June-2008 To May-2009, and I left the Bharti-Axa Life Insurance Co. Ltd due to rescission, in between that ICICI Bank offered me Credit card, I was not aware from its high interest and dues and even nobody explained me, They given me Gold credit card on basis of my 3 Lak P/A salary package. Hardly I would have used credit card of 12000 to 15000, they started giving me the bill even I was paying them my dues on time to time, whenever I was asking them to explain my interest they refuse to explain me and I was told to “ask that guy who issued you credit card”. After my jobless period I was not able to pay my dues and my bill, even though I use o pay them dues, But after tremendous
Financial problems I couldn’t afforded to pay my dues also, So they started to call me and use to threat me by saying “we would come to your house and we kidnap you” and “we will take away your valuable”, I was scared and I did not updated my new number To them.
When Bharti-Axa Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Credited 32200/- My PF’s money in my Account last Jan-2010, ICICI Bank debited whole money without informing me,
When I come to know from Bharti-Axa Life Insurance Co. Ltd Last month though they credit 32200/-in my account of my PF’s money I enquired To ICICI Bank there was no money in my Account, I asked them why did you debited my PF’s whole money from my Account they told we debited your money from your account because your credit card due, And yet not explained me how they applied charges and interest, I tried lot of time to understand how they can debit PF’s money without informing account holder, ” The kept telling me “ Do what you want you do we debited your PF;s money”
Even I did not give the( Auto debit rights) to them on saving account form,

ICICI Bank Credit Card — EXCESS CHARGE BY ICICI

I have ICICI HP credit card since many years. On this card, I had enjoyed filling fuel free of any surcharge from HP petrol pump. However quite recently, ICICI started charging the same in the billed amount. Normally fuel surcharge is charged as a separate line item, but ICICI quietly adds the amount to the basic fuel cost , so while the receipt is for x amount, the billing happens for X+surcharge without your knowledge. This is chaeting and forgery. On complaining, ICICI bank's CC says that since the m/c used by petrol pump is non ICICI, hence the surcharge.

How the hell one would know if a particular m/c is ICICI or non ICICI - Only Chanda Kochhar could know probably
If surcharge is being charged - then why is it being charged hidden? These guys are cheaters

ICICI Bank Credit Card — AMOUNT DEBITED

Today (06.01.11) i have deposited transfer cheque of rs. 30,000 to my icici bank account. after while i would withdraw of rs. 12,000 & when I was checked mini statement then there is my account ledger balance was showing 18000 & Available balance was Rs. 43 only. when i m goes to J.B. Nagar branch then they asked me ur amount is blocked due to non payment of my credit card . I know that my fault becoz i m not able to pay money due to jobless & family problem. (Main thing is that the amount is 30,000 is not mine but someone else i.e. my office persons now he want to money immediately what can i do? How can i arrange money. i m in very big trouble. i cant understand what can i do or not?
If bank will not unblock my money then i will getting more trouble.
My financial position is not good condition, also my fathers have heart problem.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Deducting money from my saving account for a cancelled card.

My self vikram Tambe was using ICICI bank credit card but due to continuous discrepancies in bills I had stopped using this card. same was cancelled through call center and sent back to icici bank.Now all of sudden bank have deducted 4788 rs from my account on behalf of dues on cards. this was not even notified to me. please advice me and tell me how to recollect this money.

Credit Card — Cheque issued -misplaced by your bank

Dear Sirs,
My name is K.Rajendran and my credit card no.4076xxxxxxxx4007- valid from 05/06 and my date of birth is[protected]. Pls.note I have dropped my payment cheq.no.215245 dt.1.1.2011 for Rs.400/- on Central Bank of India on 2.1.11 at your bank. After 10 days I recd.one sms saying that I have not paid the credit card due. When I checked with my bank, the cheque which I issued has not come for payment !!! Really it is surprising and again I went to ICICI bank and enquired . But they told me it is not traceable and you have to drop one more cheque. I spoke to this already to your customer care executive Mr.Harikrisihan and he also asked to drop one more cheque. Accorcingly I have dropped another cheq.no.215246 dt.13.1.11 for Rs.400/- Hope this time the cheque won"t be missed out !!! So it is absoultely not my fault and hence I request not to put any late fee charges or other charges. Hope you understand the situation and will cooperate. My mob.no.is.[protected].
I await your early response.Pls.also note I never ever made my payments late so far and you can very well check my previous a/c. Also, note this is not the first time your people are misplacking my cheque and every time I have to write to you to reverse the late fee and other charges. Kindly confirm.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Harasement for Undue Payment

I Have credit Card of ICICI Bank Which, I am using since last 4-5 years, I had been
never late for payment.As Such In August'2010 I had Paid Rs. 6759 of due amount of
my card. By their mistake they credited this amount on other Card holders account.
Which Shows Non payment on my September billing Period. So I had complaint about
this to their customer care. My complaint no is SR[protected]. They requested to send
fax to them. I had faxed my Bank Account Statement to them. Then also they did not
credit 6759 Rs. To my account on the October statement as well... So again I complained to them .. And Demanded My cheque xerox.. From their records they had
given me xerox of my cheque. On which I had clearly mentioned my card number. So It was their fault to credited into another persons account. Nothing has been done till today.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Fraudulent credit card transaction

Hi,

I have discovered that there exists my name in the CIBIL list for outstanding against a credit card of ICICI bank which I have never owned.
This card was a fraudulent issue in my name and the only time I got to know there was a card in my name was when I rec'd an SMS alert stating that there is a transaction done on your card.
On calling the customer care for ICICI, when I asked them to block my card they asked me for the card number which I never had.
They said they can't close / block my card without the relevant credentials. When I tried verifying my identity the address didn't
matchup too. This repeated and I followed up similarly with ICICI bank for an action but to no use.
It seems the only thing that was related to me on that card was my mobile no and rest everything including address and other
credentials weren't correct. It is for this reason that I never rec'd anyting like statement etc..

Thereafter I started gettinig some calls about payment of my dues where I kept explaining the situation to so many people who called
time and again. but all of this never helped. All of this dried up after some time and I thought the bank may have discovered the right
culprits or source and relevant recoveries would be processed.

Recently I applied for a loan where I got to learn that against this card there is a balance outstanding and hence my name appears in the
list of CIBIL, thus there are issues for me to get this loan.

Now it is an irony that I have to go about explaining for a credit card that I have never owned. I am not sure if you or someone can
take this request and assist me in steps forward to get the necessary updates done to the CIBIL list.

Any assistance in this regards is much appreciated.
