[Resolved]  Shoppers Stop — Being cheated in Jewelry purchase from Shoppers Stop

My husband is a First Citizen member at Shoppers Stop and we mostly buy dresses from there. But, for jewelry, it was our first experience there. On 25th Dec 2011 (around 10 days back), we purchased a gold ring with diamond from Shoppers Stop, Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad. The price of the ring was around Rs18200 and after discount we got at Rs 13500. This jewelry belonged to Sparkles brand. On 5th day, the color of gold turned to white. So, on 1st Jan 2012, I went there and complained. The sales person was not ready to return and so the manager had to come forward. The manager said that gold cannot be white. Even if it had any defect, she had to follow the Sparkles (a contractor there) policy and so they cannot take back. They can exchange only and even in that case also they would give jewelry of the same brand. I said I dont want to get another jewelry of Sparkes as our experience was not good with that brand. I insisted to give me jewelry of Gilli brand as they had Gilli. The manager did not allow. After having so long discussion with manager, we had to finally return home with the jewelry we had bought. Sparkles seems to be great cheater; it does not sell genuine jewelry and Shoppers Stop seems to be channel partner with it. I am planning to go to Consumer Court as they have given me wrong jewelry having silver instead of gold. Even I checked online at Shoppers Stop website; it sells the same ring at Rs 12700 which I had bought after discount at Rs 13500.
